<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">With all the running and cutting and dashing Richard Hamilton does on court, it's a surprise that he has never suffered an ankle sprain in the pros -- until now.Hamilton injured his left ankle in the second half of Sunday's victory over San Antonio. The injury was not thought to be serious at first, but Hamilton continued to feel soreness in the ankle Monday and Tuesday, so the Pistons' shooting guard will sit for a while as the team closes in on the Central Division title and a No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs. "I sprained my right ankle my sophomore year in college, and that has been about it," said Hamilton. "I've rolled it a couple of times, but I've kept on playing and everything was all right. But this time I kept playing, and I knew something wasn't right." There's never a good time for an injury, but with Hamilton out the Pistons' coaching staff can take a long look at Carlos Delfino, the rookie guard/forward who has played in just 16 games this season because of surgery on his right knee. Delfino played 22 minutes and scored four points in Tuesday night's 91-76 loss to the Cavaliers. He's averaging 4.9 points per game. Hamilton had missed just one game this season, with a thigh bruise at Minnesota on Jan. 24. He leads the Pistons in scoring at 19.3 points per game and averages 3.6 rebounds and 4.5 assists in 38.7 minutes. Hamilton said there's no timetable for his return.</div> Source
