SALT LAKE CITY -- Utah forward Andrei Kirilenko broke his left wrist Thursday night in a collision with Washington's Kwame Brown, ending his season.

Kirilenko, Utah's leading active scorer at 16 points per game, drove to the basket and crashed into Brown just 3:02 into the game. Kirilenko's feet went out from under him and he put his hands down to break his fall, landing hard on his tailbone and left wrist.

Kirilenko remained on his stomach for several minutes before going to the locker room, holding his left wrist and in obvious pain. The Jazz announced early in the second quarter that the wrist was broken and Kirilenko, an All-Star last season, was done for the season.

Kirilenko missed 26 games after spraining his right knee Nov. 30 against San Antonio. He also missed a game Feb. 15 with a sprained right ankle.

Kirilenko's injury leaves Utah without its top two scorers. Carlos Boozer leads the team at 17.8 points per game, but has been out since straining his right foot Feb. 15. Boozer is on the injured list and remains out indefinitely.

It's just been that kind of season for the Jazz...

AK was one of the very few reasons to actually follow this team the rest of the year.

Damn, what a terrible injury to AK47. It's been a nightmare for this team dealing with all the injuries to their top players. Fortunately, Ak47 is still young, so he should be able to recover from a wrist injury.

Utah have had a horrible run with injuries during the season, and it's not getting any better. Andrei Kirilenko, when healthy, has had some great games this season and this will hurt his chances for a defensive award. It can't get much worse for Utah now... or can it?

Whats next? I'll be ready for this season to be over with, it seems like it has been forever. Maybe Kirilenko and Boozer will be ready for next year with Chris Paul running the point.

BTW Kobe 8 Ball, nice Immortal Technique quotes in your sig. One of my favorite underground MC's. Can't wait for Middle Passage to drop this summer.

Including this game, Andrei Kirilenko only played in 41 games for the Jazz. He hasn't had an injury history in the NBA until this season either, his lowest amount of games played in his first 3 seasons was 78. It looks like he will lead the NBA in BPG for the regular season with an impressive 3.40 in 33.7MPG.

it's all over for the Jazz...maybe they should lose all the remaining games and have a good pick next season and praying the players will stay healthy next season.

Jazz started the season quite impressive, but the injuries finish the Jazz season earlier.

    ciao Jazz.

The only bright spot...it gives Humphries and Snyder time to step and prove they have some value to this team for the future.
