<div class="quote_poster">Quoting DerfZ:</div><div class="quote_post">with the 2 picks i really think we should take paul, and mccants

    Aruajo
    Bosh
    Rose
    McCants
    Alston/Paul</div>

Ehhh?.... too bad Paul is a legit top 5 draft player... maybe even Top 3... IMO the Raptors should get McCants and maybe trade down to Denver for the two more first rounds?? And What the Raptors organization should do is try to hire the exact same scouts as the scouts for the Spurs... Man they had some excellent draft picks... and i have a feeling their pick is going to be good too..

just as long as we get the best possible player out there and not some person that is used to fill a void (Araujo). if these 2 happen, then that's great, but if it doesnt, i hope the raptors are smart enough to get the best possible players available

Just thinking...we could've had Iguodala, Telfair, Biedrins, Josh Smith, JR Smith, Nelson, Dorell Wright, Al Jefferson but we picked up Araujo

I don't think it is fair to judge Araujo just yet. He hasn't played the way we had hoped in his rookie year.

He still can develop into a good solid center.

Pros (so far) - decent shooter for his size, decent FT%, sets a nasty pick, fills up the lane. Good passer for his position.

Cons (so far) - Looks lost on both ends, doesn't know how to use his body yet on the boards, picks up quick fouls. Not great lateral speed.

Once he learns to use his 290 lbs frame to box out and haul down boards, he will fit us nicely. That can take 2, 3 4 years.

Look at Erick Dampier. He has been in the league for 9 years. It was only last season he really made an impact.

Sam Dalembert was averaging 8 ppg and 7 rpg in 26 mpg in his 2nd year. That just over twice as many minutes then Hoffa in his 1st year.

Sure he is no Okafor nor Howard which is what everyone is expecting, but he also didn't go first or 2nd.

I'm just getting tired of the Hoffa haters. Give the kid a chance. See what he does in the off-season. See how he starts off the 1st half of next year's season at the very least!

^I totally agree..you can't really judge him and Iggy yet..not until their careers are over anyways. I feel bad for Hoffa. It's not like he doesn't hear TO complaining about his performance..his confidence is already low enough, and this isnt helping..

I say draft Derron Williams with our 1st pick, and Charlie Villanueva with our 2nd.
I like Derron over Felton, cuz Felton is way too much like Skip and Derron would give us a change of pace in the game that we could use. Plus players can always be trained to be faster. Derrons got the fundamentals and Feltons too inconsistent.
By our second pick Mccants will probably be gone so we gotta find another forward/guard. I don't like Warrick that much, he reminds me of Darius Miles: relies too much on his athleticism. Villanuevas got a better all around game and has room to improve.

RAymond felton has proven he could totally control games and distribute the ball like nothing. Raymond is more athletic than rafer period and he doesn't have an attitude problem like rafer does.

Yeah, but this is a lottery pick who was predicted to be able to contribute immediately. For a guy who was promised to be help in the middle and the high expectations of lottery picks, Araujo has been a huge disappointment.

On the topic of Warrick, there is also a problem with his defense. He is too slow to guard small forwards in the NBA and too weak to guard power forwards. Until he starts either buffing up or gaining more quickness, Warrick is a man without a definite position.

The raptors wanna run with Sam Mitchell's system. Raymond Felton is the perfect complement. He could run with the best of em and pass like nobody. He is truly player to consider in this draft.
