<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Alabama junior forward Kennedy Winston will make himself eligible for the NBA draft and skip his senior season with the Crimson Tide. Winston will withdraw from his spring semester classes, school officials said in a release Thursday. He has not hired an agent, leaving open the possibility that he could change his mind before the draft on June 28 and return to school. "Playing in the NBA has been my dream, and I feel like this is the best time for me to go ahead and pursue that dream and try and make that jump," said the 6-foot-6, 230 pound Winston. Winston was the Crimson Tide's leading scorer this season and a first-team all-SEC selection. He averaged 17.9 points and 5.4 rebounds in 2004-05 and ranks 20th in career scoring at Alabama with 1,325 points. Alabama coach Mark Gottfried said he supported Winston's decision. "Ken and I have discussed this a number of times, and he feels this is something he wants to do at this time," Gottfried said. "Kennedy has been a great asset in our program and a young man who we have enjoyed and been proud to have here at Alabama. We will support him 100 percent as he pursues his career."</div> THE KID HAS A LOT OF TALENT. DOES IN RELATE TO THE NBA GAME. IT COULD, BUT I HAVE MIXED FEELINGS ON HIS ABILITY. TENDS TO DISAPPEAR TOO OFTEN, HOWEVER, THE SAME WAS SAID ABOUT JOSH CHILDRESS. THEY SAID HE NEVER JUST DOMINATED. BUT, HE COULD BE A NICE 2ND ROUND PICK, MAYBE THE TAIL END OF THE FIRST, DEPENDS ON HIS WORKOUTS. BUT AT 6-8 230, THATS A NICE BODY TO TOSS ON THE WING COMING OFF THE BENCH. I THINK BY MAYBE HIS 2ND OR 3RD YEAR YOU COULD HAVE AN EXCELLENT 6TH OR 7TH MAN, BUT NOT MUCH MORE FROM WHAT I'VE SEEN OUT OF HIM.
Yeah, I also agree with you. I haven't seen him play much. (mainly the 2 UF games and 1 or 2 others), but he really hasn't impressed me at all in those games. I think he's very overrated. I just hope the Magic don't pick him.
I wouldn't say Winston is overrated, but he is not ready for the pros. He faded down the stretch and proved that he is not ready for the big time. Fortunetly, he hasn't hired an agent yet, so there is still a chance he comes back to the Tide next season.
woah chill on the caps imo he should stay another year, he's not ready for the pro's, and it couldn't hurt.
