Belief is key. This is a great time to see who the real fans are and who are just a bunch of bandwagoners. There needs to be changes, but I think small ones will do the trick. As I have mentioned in another thread, its just a matter of finding a key player or two to make things happen. It will. KEEP THE FAITH!
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TheNextJordan8:</div><div class="quote_post">Man im having mixed feelings. One is that i dont want people to get on Kobes case because he didnt make the playoffs. The second is that i would like to get a good pick at the same time. Now i know that we are going to be in the lottery. Its just that i dont want all that negativity to fall on Kobes shoulders. he gave his best did all he could and his teammates dodnt help out at all. Except for Jumaine Jones which i tihnk has been betetr than Caron this year. It sucks as Laker fans we are in a very bad position right now. Lets hope Kobe can get this ship back o ntrack and get us rolling again. I odnt want him to be another bust like A.I or Vince or T.Mac. I have faith in Kobe and the Lakers. We all should. Looking forward to the final 15 games and looking to have a little fun. So should all of you. Anyways guys im just trying to say believe in your team and get ready for a funfilled exciting seaso next year. GO LAKERS!!!!</div> I also feel the same way. For the fans cheering for the Lakers to make it to the lottery instead of the playoffs, you're basically rooting for the Lakers to lose. How can you root for your favorite team to lose? Having 4 picks is great, but with Kupcake still as GM I'm crossing my fingers he does not blow it. I'd actually like the Lakers to package a couple of picks to move up in the draft or to entice someone to take Brian Grant from the team. If Felton is available the Lakers should grab him. He's the perfect fit at PG for the team. In the JBB Mock Draft I also have the Lakers taking Salim Stoudemire, Juan Mendez, and Lawrence Roberts. Salim gives the Lakers another scorer off the bench, and someone who can substitute in for Kobe, so #8 doesn't have to play so many minutes. Juan Mendez and Lawrence Roberts gives the Lakers two workhorses on defense and rebounding. Lawrence Roberts also has a sweet post up game and is a great outlet passer. Ronny Turiaf would also be a great fit, he would bring that mean streak the Lakers lack. I think he's going to go a few spots higher though.
i would say just keep Kobe Bryant, Caron Butler, SASHA, and jermaine jones....the rest of the team can pack their bags.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting WadeDynasty:</div><div class="quote_post">Well if that trade happens, Boozer can have 2 men game once again like he did with Bron. Just stand near the rim and catch them passes... Oh I know it's almost impossible to have Lamar back and that's sad. He seemed to like it in Miami and fans liked him as well. One year was just too short to enjoy anything...</div> Well for who you got in return, I dont think you are complaining too much about his departure.
I would like to hear some suggestions on who would be a great pick for the lakers in the draft. I think Andrew Bogut of Utah would be the perfect pick for the Lakers. I know we need a pg but we also need a Big Man center/power forward. I don't want to see Lamar play PF next season and Mihm is the most inconsistent player this season. So if he's still there when the lakers are on the clock they should take him.

raymond felton would be a perfect fit. Chris Paul, Bogut and Williams(if he decides to declare) will all be gone by the time the lakers draft, nbut anything can happen in the lottery.
The three perfect fits: Andrew Bogut, Chris Paul, Raymond Felton. Andrew Bogut will more than likely be gone by the time we come to pick, so we either trade up to the 1 or 2 pick to grab him, or we get rid of that thought. The same goes for Chris Paul, he is a top 3 pick. We either trade up for the pick, or we get him out of the head also. Raymond Felton could fall right into our hands, he is just what we need. A PG who can score, play D, and has great courtvision.
I think the first option the Lakers need to explore is enticing a team with their picks, but having Grant be part of that deal. Or see about buying Grant out of his contract. It's easier to build a team through free agency instead of the draft, but until Grant is gone the Lakers cannot get free agents.
brian grant is team poison and agreed get rid of him Draft Salim Staudemire or Raymond Felton or take a gamble on Marvin Willaims

Also Marvin Williams is not a gamble, he's a sure thing to be an impact player in the NBA. I don't think he will be around when the Lakers draft and also he's another scorer, not really a defensive player.
lakers the next mavs no1 can play D who cares Draft good offensive players and we'll score big but lose in play-offs big but atleast we'll get to play-offs
Official Draft Thread Post anything Draft related in here..(thanks for the idea og15) Shape - Could you merge in all the draft threads?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting LakeTown:</div><div class="quote_post">haha, why? taft would be pretty good for Lakers in my opinion</div> Taft is extremely inconsistant which we are already good at. We need a guy who we know has already proven himself. That guy is Felton, Felton is guy who will make Mihm score 15 ppg, and Kobe 30 ppg. Felton is truely amazing, If you watch any UNC games he makes that team run. He makes amazing passes and makes Sean Mayes and that crew look like superstars. I think if we draft him in 2 years Kobe/Felton backcourt will ebthe strongest in the NBA. If Buss wants to go to our old days of run and gun, show time playing, Felton is the guy to get. Guys the big men in this draft suck, after Bogut and Splitter, most of these guys would be 2nd rounder in any other draft. We shoudl really look into waiting till next year to pick up big men, this draft has so many point guards in it, a guy who would be a top 5 pick is not a 12 lotto pick cuz of the point guard talent. Again Chris Taft would be an extremely stupid pick, he is not going to be a guy to make a big impact for our club, Felton CAN make the pick and he should be our starting point guard if we pick him. NO QUESTIONS ASKED, Felton is the guy we should be aiming for in the drafts. PLUS Kupcheck is Tarheel Alumni so he should be in the up and up of drafting a UNC boy. If we drafted him you would see every starters numbers going up, he makes basektball that muc heaiser for the guys around him.

My point exactly, we should just hold him for the next year, play him 15 mpg, and see what pops up with teams wanting expiring contracts when his expires, maybe we can pick up some good talent u know?

Trust me, I thin ki nthe end keeping B Grants Contract will be best. There will be some disgrunteld player in 2007 and a team looking for big expiring contracts...
