In his 11th season, the 6-foot-9 Marshall is in the final year of a contract that will pay him $5.3 million this season. As an unrestricted free agent, he should attract plenty of suitors, possibly the Sixers. Marshall didn't want to tip his free-agent hand last night before the Raptors faced the Sixers at the Wachovia Center. But he left no doubt about his affinity for his hometown team. <font color="DarkRed">"I love coming back here," Marshall said. I think it would be nice if the sixers got him, but my only concern is his age. if we sign him, we will have AI, CWebb, Mckie, and jackson all in their 30s. we will have an aging team. plus, if we do sign him, i don't know if we will have enough money to resign willie, korver, and sammy. if we do sign him though, i hope billy king doesn't give him a long term deal, since he is so old. <font size="1"><font color="Red">- WHEN POSTING ARTICLES MAKE SURE IT'S BETWEEN 3-4 PARAGRAPHS. i don't think it would be a good move even though every time the sixers play him he goes off. i think his age is a factor obviously and i don't think more outside shooting is something we need.
I think he could be a nice player off the bech for us. Marshall is a guy who can shoot very well and rebound to, he is definetley a person who would fit in O'Briens system. I wouldn't mind having him here but we should not give him a big contract, because he is an aging player and won't be worthy long term.
When a guy kills you this much from outside, I'd go after him myself, it's like he was putting on a show for the Sixers, though Philly's three point defense is terrible.
Yeah marshall is gonna get some decent money. The bulls are looking at him too. Pax said he hated to give him up in the trade but the toronto demanded both rose and Marshall. But hell probalbly end up on the team that does better in the playoffs.
As much as I wish Donyell would stay in TO next season, I know that's highly unlikely and if there's any team I would pick for him to play for, it'd be Philly. He looked so happy on Friday when he was in Philly since it's real close to his home..if you guys do get Donyell, good luck with him..not that you need it.
Spend the MLE on Donyell! If they can, that would be a great thing. I don't know if the Bulls would get him back, since they have Curry and Chandler. They are also in great shape at the SF spot with Luol Deng manning the position.

Donyell is also a high canidate for the 6th Man Award, but I doubt he`ll get it. Never the less Marshall is a great player to come off the bench and drop 3`s on you. He also can grab alot of rebounds. Hopefully the Sixers take a better look at this guy this summer.
Martin, the MLE is always approximately 4.5 million dollars. I know they would offer it to Donyell. We're talking about a team that gave that money to Brian Skinner then just never played him...
Having Marshall as a backup would be a BIG HELP. I'm not to thrilled with our backup frontcourt players as in Jackson and Rogers. That's two stocky players with short arms and what makes matters worse is that one of them hangs around the perimeter all game long. So if we acquire Marshall that would make our bench very, very stronger. It would look a little something like this... C- Jackson PF- Marshall SF- Rogers SG- Mckie/Green PG- Salmons/McKie And since this is his hometeam, and being the person that I've concluded him to be, I wouldn't be surprised if he took the MLE offer. I like our chances at getting him during the off-season. -- Btw, O'Brien needs to play Matt Barnes. If he gives Barnes some PT he could be a very solid player off the bench and it would add to some of the depth that we lost in the Webber trade.

Matt Barnes could maybe even breakout in Philly if Obie would just play him. I think this kid might have some skills under his belt.
Well....you know it's Jim O'Brien, who has the weirdest rotation in the league, who doesn't play Willie Green.
