Suns: Amare, "I'm in Shaq's League" <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Shaquille O?Neal is the longtime basketball hero of Suns forward Amar? Stoudemire. Nowadays, though, the rising Stoudemire faces the Miami Heat superstar center more and more on relatively even terms. Stoudemire said he was never awed by Shaq on the floor, that in terms of competitiveness (if not talent), <font size="4">"As soon as I got here (in the NBA), we were equals." </font> While saying, "I don?t want to give away any secrets," in his approach to tonight?s game, Stoudemire said that in general terms, "I?m a little quicker. I can take him on the perimeter a little bit." In the Suns? win over the Heat on Jan. 11 in Phoenix, the Suns ran the floor until Shaq and the Heat wilted. "I was using my quickness," Stoudemire said. "That?s what I?ll continue to do. Whatever advantage I have, that?s what I try to do." </div> Source
When I was watching the pre-game thing before the Heat-Suns matchup I watched how Shaq talked about Amare is very similar to a younger version of Shaq. More athletic and could do alot more things then the big fella could do today. That must really mean something when you get praise from Shaq.
jea <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Phantom Balla:</div><div class="quote_post">They are not equals. When you get props from Shaq though you got to be good like Poet said.</div> he is good but he will never develop into the force shaq is / was
yes he is in Shaqs league... hes in the NBA isnt he? lol... but no, he wont ever be half as dominate as Shaq is. Without Nash, Amare's fg% goes down drastically..
