This Kentucky-Michigan State game is insane. What a shot by Sparks and I say it's a 3. What a hit on that one kid from UK too, took a shot for the team. Edit: Ruled a 3, talk about insanity. This game doesn't affect my bracket in any way but it sure is fun to watch.

The shot by Sparks was just amazing, what an effort by Kentucky to go after the offensive board! Sparks redeemed himself after missing the free throw in one and one situation. What an Elite Eight this has been, 3 overtimes in four games and four very competitive games.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting UKOwnstheSEC:</div><div class="quote_post">I love Patrick Sparks, baby!!!!</div> I hate Sparks.... He gets so lucky sometimes. I don't understand how Michigan can shut down a great shooter like Redick but they can't stop Sparks. Michigan is completly collapsing in overtime. They're getting offensive rebounds but their defense hasn't been that great. They had 4 chances at a shot and they finally hit a three. Just pray that Hayes doesn't foul out.
Azabukie didn't even get a shot off. He should have handed it off to Sparks who was right behind him. Double overtime. EDIT: Azabukie just fouled out.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting UKOwnstheSEC:</div><div class="quote_post">Rondo should've drove to the basket instead of passing it off.</div> I agre. He should have began his move to the basket earlier than what he did. Kentucky is not blocking teir men out. Paul Davis just got a dunk off of a missed shot. EDIT: Kentucky loses!
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting UKOwnstheSEC:</div><div class="quote_post">Yep, couldn't get it done on this day...</div> Yea, I really feel sorry for Hayes though. He had such a great career at Kentucky... UK has some great freahman. Rondo, Morris and Crawford will keep improving and Kentucky will be playing on the level of the elite teams again next year.
Lack of rebounding and questionable coaching decisions cost Kentucky. Up 4 in overtime they let MSU get 3 offensive boards which led to a three by Brown which cut It to 1 instead of Kentucky having a chance to go up 6. That was huge. Leaving Sparks on the bench for so long was not smart, the Kentucky offense looked terrible when Sparks and Hayes were off the floor. I know Hayes was in foul trouble with 4 fouls but when you are playing for a place in the final four you have to hope for your senior to use his best judgement late in the game. Still an amazing game and weekend. 3 overtimes in the 4 regional finals. What more could you ask for? I expect both number 1 seeds to go through to the championship game next week though.

Anyway, all I have to say is that we're going all the way. All of this regular season smack talk about Michigan State being overrated, Duke being so great, and Alabama going to the finals (???) has all come to an end. Last year they were preseason #1 and #2 depending on the polls you read. This season they were preseason top five by a lot of polls. They underrachieved and have finally got their team to play to their full potential. After beating the two best mid-majors in Old Dominion and Vermont, and then beating Duke and Kentucky, I don't think North Carolina will be as big of a problem as most people think. Anyway, I'm not going to complain about the Sparks shot, because I'm so happy right now I can barely type. MSU all the way! Izzo for Coach of the Year! Brown and Ager own you!

Yes! Yes! Yes!!! We were eating at a restaurant while the game was on, and in the overtimes, nobody was working or eating, everybody was watching the game. Yes! Great win. MSU! MSU! MSU!
The Senior leadership of the Spartans was the difference in this game over the Kentucky rookies. Michigan State won it at what they do best ... FREE THROWS. Shannon Brown showed the nation what he's capable of with an amazing performance. All the Seniors on the Spartans team came up with one big play after another, except Chris Hill (shoot the ball Chris you have an amazing stroke!) Torbert hit a big 3, and made a smart inbound pass to Alan Anderson to seal the game. Ager was also big in the clutch, and you can't say enoug about Paul Davis in this game. He played smart, didn't get into foul trouble, and was effective rebounding and scoring. Chuck Hayes see you in the NBA.

St. went in knowing that Redick was going to be their main option so they set up a whole defense toward stopping him. They knew Sparks was a big part of Kentucky's success, but not to the point where their main focus was making sure Sparks didn't score. What made Kentucky dangerous was the fact that so many people such as Sparks can have big games in any given game. Either way I gotta start up on my Big Ten pride so uh go Illinois and Mich. St.! haha
I love all the hate on Sparks, but you all must not watch the games because he's not cocky. But it's your opinion, not mine...
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting CUSA Fan:</div><div class="quote_post">I dislike Sparks, because of certain freethrows he just had to make....</div> Well, you can blame that on Tubby. He never should've put a guy out there with the game on the line after the player had been on the bench for 5 minutes.
Isn't Crawford transferring next year? Or has that since been resolved and he's staying at Kentucky? The Spartans had an amazing second half shooting wise and Shannon Brown was magic during that stretch when he couldn't miss from three. Exciting game right till the end.
