    yea

I believe that Kobe only shoots when it is best for the team. He doesnt take low-pecrentage shots though some of his shots look difficult for him it isnt a bad shot. Look at the end of the knicks Lakers game a few weeks ago. Kobe had the ball and could have looked for his own shot but drew the defense and passed it off to Luke Walton. You cant judge a player by the amount of shot attempts but by the quality of the shots. If you did it by volume than you would have to call MJ a ballhog becuase he used to attempt around 29, 30 a game.

Isn't that what your suppose to do? collapse the defense then dish? Where do you get your reasoning?

IMHO, you should always dish the ball to your teammates whenever they have an open look or in a good position to score, not AFTER collapsing the defender and showing off your skill.

^ Well, hes a SHOOTING guard, he's also the star. It's his job to score points is it not? He doesn't pass as often as he should in my opinion but that's only because he's still appreaching this whole "team leader" concept. He's still insecure I think. He wants to win, but he wants to win as him being the leader, the one who scores points and takes his team on his back. It's either that or he doesn't trust his teammtes. His trust factor will grow as his teammtes surrounding him get better or h'es bound for a Dominqiue Wilkins-like career.

Not long ago the question was can anyone beat the Lakers? Kobe was why Shaq is back east taking Miami to a level they've never seen. Meanwhile if the Lakers play the Warriors tommorrow, smart money is on the Warriors. Say goodnight Chuck,Kobe is the GM and you can start packing. [IMG]

Common, it's not like the Warriors are bad anymore, what's their record since Baron Davis got traded there?

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting whatever:</div><div class="quote_post">IMHO, you should always dish the ball to your teammates whenever they have an open look or in a good position to score, not AFTER collapsing the defender and showing off your skill.</div> What does showing off skills have to do with anything. There is one defender on each man. So typically there is no open man on the floor. In order to get a man open there has to be at least a double team or help from other defender that opens up the passing lanes. That what Kobe does. Gets double teamed colapses the D, and makes the pass.

Every Guard should do that. If they dont double team or help, then go strong to the hole for a score, 3 point play, or at least a foul. If they double team and help, then dish to the open man. I dont see where skill comes into play there. Thats fundamental stuff.

Kobe commands alot of respect, so natually the defense will help when he slashes to the hoop, so he has to dish. Now if he wasnt' passing even after a team collapsed at him so he could score for himself, then there would be a problem. But he is one of the the best assists percentage for SG's... He's getting his teammates involved.

thats the problem, now dont get me wrong i love lakers, and kobe, but people just view him as superman. No its not right he gets mad at his teammates, no its not right when he says that he is great while u cant play D. Look at it sure Atkins does not lead assissts, because Kobe practically brings the ball up every possession, if u look at it every time he gets the ball he doesnt swing it he just drives, shoots, or tries for an assist, then looks for swinging the ball. Yes he is a star, but he plays ON A TEAM. I am sure that roumours about trading Lamar Odom came from a Kobe vs. Odom conflict which was just more covered up. People understand Kobe and his frustration with the team, but he is not the coach or a GM, he is a player and what he has to do is to do his part and in that lead the team and encourage teammates, instead of cracking on their defense, he also has to realize that Chucky is 5'11, and its harder to guard 6'2/6'4 guards. Also someone said its just Chuck, **** ITS JUST CHUCKY. Who are you gonna play, Vujajic? Brown? Atkins is 3 tiems the point they are. I say everyone playes their position and Kobe should play NOT POINT FORWARD, NOT GUARD FORWARD, NOT POINT GUARD, NOT POWER FORWARD, NOT CENTER, BUT HIS POSITION SHOOTING GUARD.
