<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">They will cheer Chris Webber at Arco Arena in Sacramento on Monday night not because they ever completely understood him, which they never did, but because when you're desperately thirsty, most anything looks good to drink. And Webber, in his prime, was just about a one-man oasis for a Kings franchise that had been wandering around in the sand long enough. They will remember that fact above just about any other, where Webber is concerned, and if you'd stunk for as long as the Kings had stunk before the truncated 1999 season rolled around, there's an even-money chance you'd do the same. As Webber and the rest of Allen Iverson's team from Philadelphia come into Sacramento, the tally from the Kings-Sixers trade has yet to be made final. The Kings, who almost immediately after the deal lost offensive linchpin Brad Miller to injury, have hobbled along, playing .500 ball since then. Webber is still trying to figure out how to live in Iverson's world.</div> http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/stor...mark&id=2023776
Should be a good game. The way Philadelphia has been playing lately (with religion) against the Kings. I am interested to see how he is going to be "welcomed". The entire story behind Webber in Sacramento seems like a soap opera, he was the "face of the franchise" or at least a big part of it - he seemed really hurt by the trade. Though he knew it was coming, it was just a matter of time, really. It should make for an interesting media frenzy. I haven't done extensive research but I'll say : Sacramento: 104 Philadelphia: 99
I think the matchup of Webber and Thomas can be taken advantage of by the Kings.Thomas should have no problem staying in front of Webber and no problem going by him. With that said,Webber hasnt exactly been instrumental in the Sixers success so we'll see.Sac still has enough fire power to be favored in this game and especially since its in Sac.98-91 Kings.
Phily:109 Sacramento:118 Webber had 20 points on a horrible 8 of 26 shooting from the floor, he pulled down 10 boards, 3 offensive boards. 3 assists but 3 turnovers. Dalembert played exceptionally well with 16 points and 16 boards. Iverson was deadly too, scoring 34 and 8 assists. Skinner dominated the glass - 19 rebounds, 7 of them offensive! Kenny Thomas scored 20, got 15 rebounds (6 on offense). Great "Remember us, Webber?" game for Sacramento. My prediction was pretty off. (I had "Sacramento: 104 Philadelphia: 99") Ah well.
Well I was right about Thomas having a good game.Only 2 points off on the win differential too.How about kicking in some of that money for me 44Thrilla
Did anyone watch the game on Comcast? When they played that song during Webbers into, it wasn't one of the lamest things i've ever seen.
