Insider wrote an article about the scenario of trading Kobe Bryant. It was an interesting read, and before anyone crucifies this thread, make sure you read it with an open mind. Scenario 1 - Chicago Bulls Lakers get Tyson Chandler or Eddy Curry, Erick Piatkowski, Othella Harrington & Ben Gordon Scenario 2 - Memphis Grizzlies Lakers get Stromile Swift, Mike Miller, James Posery, & Earl Watson Scenario 3 - Seattle Supersonics Lakers get Ray Allen & Radman Scenario 4 - Los Angeles Clippers Lakers get Corey Maggette, Chris Wilcox, & Marko Jaric
Scenerio one is out of the question bulls had a chance at him in teh summer and realized they wud have to trade away too many people of the core players ao(ec,tyson, ben)
I think the Clippers feel they were shafted by Kobe in the off season. They were told that Kobe was going to join the squad...then at the last minute he stayed with the Lakers. Plus, I dont think the 3 players above would do it for Kobe. I know we are dealing with Kupkake...but I'm sure Dr. Buss would demand Brand in the mix. You'd have your PF, but no Kobe...and have the Clippers...only wearing Lakers jerseys. I love the Clippers...but to lose Kobe.. you'd need some super star power in return. With Kobe having a long term contract...the Lakers could afford to shop around.

Let's not forget the Bulls have a big decision ahead with Chandler and Curry. Both will want a max deal, neither are worth a max deal, so if there is no happy medium reached the Bulls might start shopping around. Ben Gordon is going to be hard to pry from the Bulls because of the way he's playing, but how long can the Bulls keep him from the starting lineup? The Bulls might want to avoid a situation where they need to choose between Hinrich, Duhon, or Gordon. Nothing is out of the question in the NBA. I actually hope the Bulls can keep everyone and continue to develop. It's good for the game and good for the NBA with the Bulls back in the playoffs.
After he got the fat contract in the summer, I'm surprised that's even being looked into. But if I had to choose one, I'd choose the Clippers one. You have Maggette who is a good defender like Kobe, and can score (not quite like Kobe). You also have the keys to the deal...two young players. Chris Wilcox and Marko Jaric are two potential stars and are young and can be molded into good players. Give them time and they'll pay off big. The next one I'd choose is the Bulls one. You have an upgrade at center and a potential rookie of the year who is clutch and an excellent scorer. You also get a legit 3 point threat.

Quote:

Insider wrote an article about the scenario of trading Kobe Bryant
nope, Kobe will never allow it . The trade that seems really good for both teams is the Clipper trade. Imagine this, Kobe and Elton Brand. First off, a lot of bulls fans won't be so pleased if they got Kobe. First they built a really good team since the days of Jordan, now your trading one whom they call a "wannabe Jordan".
I don't get why u would wanna trade a superstar which is trying to leada team full of NBDL players and foul machines......when he still haven't got a chance to have solid players and shooters around him. Just give Kobe one more year and then we'll see if lakers should trade Kobe...now is not the time.
You're going to believe something that ESPN, of all things, is saying? I know shapecity is just posting it out of interest (I'm not disrespecting you) but if you (as readers) actually believe some of the crap that comes out of Chad Ford's mouth, you need to pick a new insider analyst. It's only his first year by himself and they are popping up trade rumours. He just signed a huge contract less then a year ago and here comes Chard Ford to save the day with his "trade Kobe" offers.

Quote:

crap that comes out of Chad Ford's mouth
But his crap sure does make for some good discussion!
nope these rumors are just that, rumors. The Lakers MUST have learned their lesson of trading a Superstar for a few lower tier players

We could pick up a good high quality superstar thru those 5 lottos picks, plus we get Meka who would fill our void at power foward.
I hate this idea period. No Kobe trade. Trade Lamar and Caron. Possibly George for a quality guard. Look into the draft and FA's. dont trade KOB!
None of those trades sounds tempting, not even the one with Ray Allen. I say keep Kobe and trade the others.

You dont keep giving superstars up trying to "make something happen". Its a work in progress and dynastys are not built OVER NIGHT. Kobe Bryant is ONLY 26yrs old.....26 and he has tons of championship experience (Remember he had 3 rings at age 23, tho he played with shaq...he was a huge part in those rings and his finger prints are all over then championship trophys.) MJ was i think 29yrs old before his teams won a ring, there is plenty of time here to get some quality roll players and things will be alright again in LA LA Land
Trading Kobe is a ridiculous idea. What is the basis for a trade. That they aren't going to make the playoffs? They have a losing record? They are horrible defensively? None of this is Kobe's fault... Kobe has been doing everything this year. In fact he has also tried everything to get this team to win. He simply does not have the supporting cast that he needs in order for the Lakers to win. Seriously the Shaq trade was trash we should have shopped around longer and got something better than a broken bloated and untradable contract (Brian Grant), a small forward who only knows how to shoot (Caron Butler), and a player that needs the ball in his hands as much as Kobe (Lamar Odom). These players are nowhere near equal value of Shaq and the Lakers have suffered because of it. We then follow up that disaster by acquiring Chucky Atkins who can't play D and also needs the ball in his hands to be effective. Follow this up with Vlade Divac not playing Karl Malone not resigning and Devon George being injured for the entire year and you get those results. So the real question should be who can we trade/draft in order to build around Kobe and reclaim our crown. Besides Kobe has a no trade clause anyway, we would never get anything near equal value for him, and all the trade possibilities are crap anyway.
Kupchak wont trade him but we cant screw up for "potentials" like curry and chandler we need a proven guy if we cant get a dominant big man (im talking nowinski's jermaine's) than no. If your trading top 10 player in NBA that's what you expect in return
