Won't do anything this year huh - I'm going to assume you didn't pay any attention to the Bills last year and take it upon myself to educate you. First of all, we finished 9-7, we had the best special teams in the league tying an NFL record for 5 touchdowns on kickoff returns, we also scored a touchdown on a blocked punt against the Bungles. We had the league's number 2 defense, and the best fantasy football defense - led by Takeo Spikes. Our offense was kinda lame at the beginning of the year, but by the time week 7 rolled around, we had our act together on both sides of the ball. The only thing that could lead to anyone having their doubts about us getting into the playoffs this year is a rookie QB named JP Losman who'm Tom Donahoe liked enough to mortgage our first round pick this year off to Dallas for the right to pick him up in last year's draft. As far as I'm concerned, Losman will be an upgrade at qb because it will allow Mike Mularkey to open up his playbook more given Losman's 4.6 40 speed compared to Bledsoe's 2 week 40 speed. Not to mention we'll have a workhorse named Willis McGahee to keep defenses honest - and then when they swear we're gonna pound it with WM, out goes speedy Lee Evans who led the league's rookie WRs last year with 9 touchdowns. By the way, if Nate Clements knocks down a 4th and long pass from byron Leftwich in week one instead of going for the int, or Travis Henry doesn't get robbed of his TD against the raiders in week 2 or 3 or 4 (I forgot which week it was), or our D doesn't breakdown against the Jets when we played them at Giants stadium - We would have been in the playoffs. but that's ok, I'm sure it's very rare that a rookie head coach takes his team to the playoffs in his first season - but Mularkey is really looking like he just might be the savior we've long needed. BTW, Losman has a guy named Sam Wyche mentoring him he's also mentored a few other guys you might have heard of - like Joe Montana and Boomer Esiason.
The Bills defense and special teams are great. Even if McGahee gets hurt, Travis Henry is no slouch. Lee Evans and Eric Moulds are great receivers. The only question mark is Losman. The Bills will go as far as he can take them... If he has a crap year, no amount of talent on both sides of the ball is going to help. Not to mention they're in the toughest division in football...
For some reason, no one seems to think that the Pats have lost anything with the departures of Romeo Crennel and Charlie Weis, Ty Law will be gone along with deion branch - I'm sorry, but the Pats WILL NOT REPEAT this year - I still think they'll be in the playoffs, but I think the afc east championship will be something that will not be handed out til week 15 at the latest, I don't see the pats beating us at home this year, and I don't see us beating them at their home either. Willis will be better, and Losman won't get sacked as much as bledsoe (who especially seemed to like getting sacked by the pats).
