    <div class="quote_poster">Quoting og15:</div><div class="quote_post">The Baron strikes again, last 5 games not counting this game he's had 26.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, 7.8 assists, 2.4 steals, 46.3% FG, and 35.7% 3PT

If Baron keeps the health alive, this is a playoff team. He can even had a couple of missed games you know, like 5 or so.</div>
Og, We're definitely pumped that we have a true franchise player to build upon now. I think very few knew that we haven't won in the Bradley Center since 2000 so that's something to be proud about as well as the last 5 games of the team as a whole. Our bench is really providing the consistency we need when starters are struggling.

Murph looked awesome tonight. I love to see him play agressive and get to the rim. I can't wait to go to the game on Sunday! Anyone else going??

What a freakin blessing it was to get Baron Davis. He's putting up great numbers and is setting an example for our players. Mullin gave up nothing to get him, that was easily the most lop sided trade of the year.

P.S. Foyle is a terrible post defender. He's a good weak side defender but is too weak to hold his own in the post. When Dampier left I knew we would have problems controlling the paint but not like this. The good news is that Mullin's on it and will come up with a solution.

Funny thing is that Foyle didn't committ any TO, at least in record book. Well, Mullin better do something about last year's horrible offseason. How in the world a same guy who can get Davis and Zarko for nothing can give ridiculous contracts to both Fisher and Foyle while losing Dampier, and jump onto resigning both Murphy and Richardson, when he didn't need to? At least, he improved from hell to heaven, so I guess that's a good sign [IMG].

To be honest, I don't expect Mullin to replace Foyle for better center, since it's extremely hard to improve center position to begin with. Besides, who's on the market anyway? I am ready to accept our fate and live with Foyle as a center, unless we get lucky in draft. I hope we can improve our pf position though, so that we no longer allows roll playing pf to score 20 pts with 50% from the field.

Anyway, great game. Although, it's still disturbing to see that we can't find the way to fit Richardson in current offense well, we managed to win 6 out of 7 and 10-7 with Davis. Davis was excellent as usual, Richardson managed to have rather productive night, Pietrus becomes a super sub, and Murphy abused their weak front court...

Actually Foyle is a decent post defender but he is 6-10,not 7-2,so if a guy has contact Foyle's ability to get up and block/alter is limited. As erratic as refs are,I really don't know anymore the right way to play D in close. I saw one game lst year where Magliore was mainly playing the refs, trying to flop, jerk, whine, anything to sucker a ref into calling the foul on his innocent opponent, meanwhile he pushed,held,hacked...it was like TV Rasslin' more than hoops. Magsfooled the refs a lot,but a few backfired and meanwhile he forgot to play real basketball and it cost them. Still,it did, even if done to a distasteful excess, show an area young players need to work on. Even if you play perfect textbook ball----all that really counts is what does it look like to the refs. The Bucks have nobody who gets the Michael Jordan-Karl Malone bonus from the refs so tonight it wasn't a big deal, but against Dirk,KG and a few others,D is a special challenge. The bottom line is that AS IS,with our faults and flaws there may only be 3-4 teams who'd likely have a stong probability of beating this crew... and early this season the W's really SUCKED,so it is impressive

Hi all. New to the forum and just wanted to say I'm proud to be a warrior fan. Glad to see alot of input here. They are playing great and really clicking with each other and knowing how to play as a team. They can only get better. I'm happy to see that Baron has brought this no giving up attitude, jrich and pietrus running and gunning towards the rim, and fisher, murphy, and dunleavy spotting up to shoot. Bienz is coming along well and I'm loving zarko. Since Murphy has been working alot on his shooting in the last couple of offseasons (and paying off for it) I think it's time to start working on the post up game. He works hard in the offseason and each time it shows...now let's put him to work in the paint.

I'm excited for the Warriors, I was hoping maybe the Clippers could get Baron Davis, and then play him in the backcourt as the SG, with Livingston.

It was definately possible seeing what you guy gave for him with Kerry Kittles and Marko Jaric, but Sterling didn't want to do it. Of all teams that got him though, I'm happy it was a team like the Warriors, it will be interesting to see this team next year. Carbakapa can be a very good bench player, I know he was doing very well as a rookie on the Suns before he got injured.

The only positions needed for your team are the center position, and a little more bench improvement, but it's looking good.

Foyle's main problem is that he gets in foul trouble, and out of rhythm when both Dunleavy and Murphy are in the game together. I honestly think his game will improve 10 fold once one of those guys are swapped out for a gyu that can play defense. Look at how much better both he and Damp were when Cliffy or Pietrus was in the game last year. It keeps people from getting a running charge at him which puts him out of position and gets him into fould trouble. I wouldn't be surprised to see mullin move Dunleavy if Murphy gets his legs back. Either way, I doubt any trades are made in the offseason unless a can't refuse scenario comes up

Wouldn't you know it, I get to catch one little snippet in the 4th quarter with the Warriors up 98-93, about 6 mins left, and what do I see? Warriors fight to get an offensive rebound and do they set up for another play? No, ball goes out to the perimeter Fisher, and what.......Fisher for 3, off the iron and the Bucks go the other way, Why? Why? Man this is getting frustrating.

The team is definitely coming along. The old W's would have collapsed after the Bucks got off to a lead early in the game. But BD kept fighting and just controlled the tempo. The team really has taken on the "anyplace, anytime, anyteam" attitude and its great to see everyone get involved. Its also great to see a different player step up. Now, D's can't just let JRich score 20+ points and ignore everyone else. Everybody is getting involved, however it is a little weird to JRich be so passive, but the TEAM as a whole is playing so much better.

In the post game interview Murph gave Barnett credit for talking to him about post moves. They talk on the plane about fingerrolls and different flip shots that can be used around the rim. It is encouraging to hear that. Whatever Murph concentrates on, he becomes so much better at. Jim Barnett is the man. No matter what people say on this board, we still have one of the best broadcast teams out there.

I don't buy that, you don't need shotblocking to be a good one on one defender. He's gets backed down continuously every night. Barnett is always right when he says Foyle lets his man get deep position in the post. Foyle lacks the most important aspects of being a good post defender. Height, foot speed and most importantly strength. Why can Danny Fortson and Dampier give Shaq problems? Their very strong. Without strength you can get any position you want in the post, and if your taller than your defender as well, forget it. I bought Tivo and have recorded most of the warrior games since B-Diddy has been traded here. I have watched in slow motion Foyle outmuscled in the post repeatedly, he's not strong at all.

The one thing I am still amazed by Foyle is blocking Ben Wallace at the peak of his dunk. I've never seen such a thing.

Yea, I find it quite unusual that J-Rich hasn't been as effective lately. I mean if it was the normal J-Rich who had ben averaging like 25-30 for the bast 30 games or so, the W's would be winning by a landslide in all these games.

We're lucky at least Fisher wasn't holding the rock the entire time like he does often. I saw him do it at least a couple of times where he tries to go Kobe off the dribble from downtown using a screen or no screen at all... and it never touched anyone else's hands. Still doesn't help him even if he gets a screen. He can't shoot worth jack unless he's already set in a spot like how Biedrins fed him the shot for the buzzer beater in the third quarter. What I don't understand is why he can't do more of a pick and roll with another player so he can at least have more options for himself other than to just start bombing with hands in his face. He tries to be more than a catch and shoot spot shooter, but he just can't cut it. There has to be some statistic out there that shows how many missed 3's off the dribble he puts up that leads to points going the other way or % of shots that go down in transition or % of shots when the shotclock is over 12 seconds and he's never passed the ball.

He's like an NBA Jam character. Remember that arcade game from the 90's? You shoot 3 shots in a row your guy suddenly becomes "on fire" and then he makes every ridiculous shot imagineable. That's Jrich.

Besides I'm sure Monty wants to see what his other players are capable of without Jrich. Of course you need Baron to set up those other guys like Pietrus, Dunleavy, and Zarko otherwise nobody is moving on offense. A guy like Derek Fisher will expect players to cut or do something and if nobody does so within 5 seconds, he'll start launching.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting upsidedownside7:</div><div class="quote_post">I don't buy that, you don't need shotblocking to be a good one on one defender.</div> That's kind of true about non-shotblockers, look at Brad Miller and Brian Grant. Those guys are not really great shotblockers, although they can do it. They throw around their weight to throw your balance off or they do crafty moves like pull the chair out from under you or use their length to terminate the dribble or to knock the ball off them and out of bounds. Plus the are defensively aware enough to not let their defensive assignment get deep inside the paint before it's already too late. They've got much better vision and understanding of what's going on the floor. The thing I don't like about Foyle is he's too raw, too undersized to really be effective in the half court set and his leaping ability is just hampered by those injuries he's picked up last season. Even on isos he gets back downed and can't guard his assignments on the spin move or the drop step driving baseline because I think he's not strong enough or coordinated enough to react in time. However, because he's such a dynamite shotblocker because of his arm length and knack for timing and keeping his eye on the ball, he probably is more helpful than either Brian Grant or Brad Miller on the weakside because he's able to challenge people more often and help out. None of these guys are really super all around defenders, but they are good defenders in their own way. A good all around interior defender is like Ben Wallace or Tim Duncan or Kevin Garnett. That's why they are allstars obviously [IMG]

True, come to think of it, we lost a lot of close games this year before the trade for Bdiddy. It's not like we were blown out, but we couldn't finish near the end. But now we can with a franchise star. It's looking like a promising season next year and we don't have to worry about losing a lot of people to free agency this offseason.

I'm glad Barnett can help Murphy in that aspect of the inside scoring game because he was getting swatted by players almost a foot shorter than him. I love how he just attacked the rim and was dunking it like he was stromile swift. Did you see that putback dunk he did? That was awesome. He is an awesome dunker when he tries and that's the Murphy I remembered when he was healthy. It's like he got timid after Shawn Bradley made him cough up blood with a cheap foul after he tried to posterize him.

Sometimes it's like there's no hands going up or their feet aren't moving or they're just too slow to react or too weak to hold position and they can't help it unless they train harder to find an edge. Like you have to have one physical attribute that's going to keep you from getting owned like either having quickness or strength, or size. You can't have none of the above. If Foyle, Zarko, Pietrus were to add more muscle and same with Dunleavy I think we would see a lot of difference in their games for guys that aren't really athletes. I don't know if it's acting, but Dun has seemed really lightweight and soft in the past. Now he's gotten more aggressive and he's playing with more resistance, but you could tell by looking at him he needs to work on that upper body and add some more to his legs. If he becomes overpowering in the post, it would be like having another player that can create separation and then put the ball on the floor so he can drive around. On defense he's smart enough to anticipate and a little pressure on his guy might make handchecks pretty worthless against him.

Welcome. I'm definitely psyched about Zarko. He could be like a Toni Kukoc/Dirk Nowitzki lite type player. Not quite the shot or the rebounder, but he's got terrific handles for a 6'11 player and can pass it and looks really fast for his size.
