Dwight has just been impressive this year. Showing composure and skills on the court. I wouldn't have minded him going to college but whatever. He is a true bright spot for the magic. Steve is so sick but isn't much of a team player. You could expect Dwight to bring his franchise up like Garnett did but with even more success seeing how humbleness is top notch. What y'all think about Dwight and the future of the magics.

Dwight has definitely not dissapointed for Orlando this season. I for one have been impressed and considering that he is only 18 or 19, only time will tell when we will be talking about him being one of the best in the league. He is a hard worker, humble, and talented. The only thing Dwight needs is time. Give him 5 years I see averages of 25/12.5/4/ 3 blocks a game on a 55% shooting! This sounds very familar to a player who plays in the NBA now...I wonder who it is?

You can tell what sort of player he is. Currently he is totally capable of 20 / 10 or even more pts if he was given more touches and they go to him inside alot more. He will develop, but as much as his development it will be the franchise realising what he actually already possessed.

Its actually all part of the feel good rookie season for us.
Dwight started big, or rather as well as could have been expected with a rough average of 10 and 10, however nelson not given any chances and was a 4 and 1 type of bench player.
Look at the past 2 months (20 games or so) Dwight averages around 13 to 15pts and about 12 boards, and that is still with quite few touches. And nelson is up to 16pts and about 5 or 6 assists, not to mention a few rebounds and steals to help on the defensive end.
Its a good situation going into next year, with 2 rookies that will develop alot in this year both hopefully keeping starting roles (more aimed at Jameer there, as jent and his lame policy will be out, espcially with hedo and DC or another scorer around on the bench).
Just have to keep our hands on them thats all.

This kid is going to be amazing. It's getting to the point where last night's game was a little disappointing to me and he still had 18 and 9. I can't wait until he gets older and into his prime, I'm just hoping that he will stay here and not leave us like Tmac and Shaq did.

Dwight is going to be great for this franchise. He's already averaging a double double and he's only 19 years old. The kid has all sorts of talent. He's a great defender and he's going to become a great offensive minded player also. For him, the sky is the limit with all the talent he has.

    Geez D12 is great!!!
I'm happy and pleased that the Magic picked him as our #1 pick. I cannot see how far he will go in his career, his potential is unpredictable!
He is doing great at his first NBA season (well, 71 games up to date), his defending, rebounding and shot-blocking let us see how good he is as a rookie in the team.

D12 has the chance to learn from Cato, Hill, Battie when they're in the same team, and he'll have more scoring opportunities at his second year, so let's see how dude is going to bring out his games to the league!

Personally I believe he was the best pick, especially in our senario (team wise) Okafor as many say wont develop to much, and I think this season most of his potential has been realised, his game is what it is now as it will be for a while. Also he is the person that Charlotte go to, he is one of the main players, Dwight, although he is a top player and a fan favorite, he isnt our "key" player, I am sure most would agree that Stevie and Hill really fill that roll.

Same with Ben Gordon, to a extent, he is a awsome player, but I think all we can see from him is more minutes (thus alot more points) and a starter role, and a alot more clutch.

I'm not saying that they wont get better, but I think that Dwight has alot more to go, and fits in so much better than any of those players would. If we had Okafor, he would have just given us 10pts and 10 rebs as Dwight did, but I think thats all he would do for the next while, he wouldnt demand more ball, and certainly dont think he would develop to a hugely dominant player (watch me eat my words this time next year :/). Ben Gordon, he actually could have done well with us, or would he, at the start of the season he would have fallen in behind Mobley and Stevie, and also Hedo for the 6th man spot. Also Jameer I think is just as cabable, and we would also have him off the bench.

Even though Dwight isnt overly been talked about as ROY (hes the 3rd outside shot that is), I am extremely glad that we did take him over the other 2.

yeah, that's what make Dwight looks good. With Franchise and Hill playing the main offensive roles and Cato/Hedo/Beattie playing the supportive roles, Dwight still playing as his way and keep showing us that he can be a better player in a team with stars.

Yeah, its so good that this season he has adjusted to high school to NBA, still a top rebounder, a good scorer, and a monster dunker, not to mention decent D, good court recognition.

Next season I think we might see more ball in his hands, with Hill taking a step back as one of the main offensive threats, letting Hedo, Stevie, Dwight and Jameer do the main damage. (although Hill I am sure will chip in alot of points anyway [IMG])

give dwight two more years, he will surely be a certified Tim Duncan with more athletism. Comparisons to shaq is a bit farfetched though IMO.

^ I think he will be a certified KG more than TD...

and I think he is no way to compare with shaq. maybe shaq will be the most dominant C or player under the board.

Dwight is another HS success story, and is definitely going to be one of the better players in the league. In a few years you'll be hearing opposing big men go:

    "Crap! We're facing HIM again?"
