I just heard it on SR610, he will miss tonights game due to the blow he took from Ha on Wed. Kinda confusing because he continued to play fine after it, but considering the date, can anyone else verify this?

Well, now we know what it is like without the rockets, cant even beat the hornets. Shows he is more important than tmac. Does anyone know if yao will be back for the game against the suns because i have tickets and the rockets could really use his 20 boards to win this game.

The Rockets lose to the Hornets ONCE without Yao and suddenly the Rockets are nothing without him? Yes Yao is a big part of the team, but do you honestly think that we would lose to the Hornets EVERY time we play them without Yao? We've lost to teams of the same calibre with both TMac and Yao in the game. It doesn't matter who's playing on th day, you either bring it or you don't. We could have easily beat New Orleans if we simply played better. Easier said than done of course.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">When asked if he would play Sunday against the Phoenix Suns, Yao said, "I don't know." That's not what his teammates wanted to hear, especially after missing their 7-6 center in the loss to New Orleans. "Tonight, certainly our paint points were probably very low," Jon Barry said. "We got nothing to the basket. We became a jump-shooting team, which we're not. We like to be a team that goes inside and then out, but we really had no post game to speak of. We just continue to struggle with our offense. Defensively we were pretty good for most of the game. But Yao's presence is obviously something that we missed."</div> http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/s.../bk/bkn/3114474

They were settling for the long range shots and had no presence in the post. Without tmac, we have people like sura who go out and take the load. The rockets are already really weak in our frontcourt. Mutombo cant take all the load and after that who do we really have, juwan howard is already gone, and now we dont have yao.
well, yao injuried again during the Sun's game. I would have been happier if Yao didn't play this game to get some more rest. But this is maybe good for Yao. Look it's going to bring out that mean streak we've all wished he had. http://sports.sina.com.cn/k/2005-04-04/11551488704.shtml Here is some key traslation: Other than having a bad cut on the chin by Steven Hunter, Yao Ming had a bad twist of his right ankle. He did not receive any post-match interview and was rushed to hospital for a few stitches to his chin, and a detailed check-up on his ankle. Before he was rushed out to the hospital, he severely bashed Hunter for his dirty plays. And unlike his usual self, he vowed he will come back with a vengeance on Hunter in their next match-up on April 10 (Sunday).
I missed the part about Yao vowing to avenge his injury in the article, but caught everything else that you translated. As for his retaliation, I hope Yao doesn't do anything too rash and get suspended for intentionally injuring Hunter or something. We don't want him to miss any more games.
are you sure this is not another april fools joke? it sounds very unlikely for yao to want to take a vengeance toward someone else
Hunter was playing kind of dirty. I saw in several instances that he'd grab players jerseys and pull them. Did Yao initially hurt his calf because of Hunter? I wouldn't be surprised.
wow lol... maybe i should go get tickets to that game i would be cool to see yao bang on hunter in person.
