The playoffs are just around the corner, so who do you think will win the East, West, and the championship? I'm taking the Suns in the West, the Heat in the East, and the Suns winning it all(Though I'd like to see Dwayne Wade & Shaq win it).

Heat will overcome the Pistons in the East. Phoenix will beat the Spurs in the West. They will meet in the finals and it will go to seven games. The outcome i think Phoenix may just have too much firepower for the Heat although it could go either way. I would love to see either team win each for different reasons though. Prediction: Suns win NBA Championship 4 - 3 in Seven Games.

It's hard to tell really since all the top teams are playing at such a high level right now with different styles.

If Duncan comes back for the playoffs healthy and effective, I don't think there's a team that could beat the Spurs 4 times in 7 games, maybe the Heat, maybe.

Miami and Detroit are without a doubt the creme of the crop in the East, so whoever comes out of them will give the West a run.

People are sleeping on the Mavs, but I won't be surprised if they come out of the West and in to the Finals. They're insanely deep, with improved defence and incridible offensive powers.

    Miami = East
    San Antonio = West
    San Antonio = Champs

Now if Duncan is out for the year or if he can't be effective, then all bets are off.

    I am hoping for a Phoenix/Miami final.

In the East, it`s going to be the Heat, but for me it`s not really like a final pick, the Pistons still have some of the best defense in the league. But Miami is going to come out and just dominate at the way they`ve been playing lately. In the West, theres a couple teams that could be the Best in the West. Of course the red hot Suns, the very hard to beat team in the Spurs, and like Purple Fever said the Mavericks now have some of that great D to get over that hump they`ve been trying to overcome. Players like Van Horn, Dampier, and Finley still have alot to bring to the table. Their team is practically loaded now. I`d watch out. The Sonics also could make some noise in the playoffs, then again Rashard Lewis has the bruised bone which could be a big blow for Seattle. Its going to be fun, exciting, and intresting to see who will be the Beast in the East and the Best in the West.

Why would all of you pick the Suns? Find me an example in the past 20 years where a team without a defense actually won the championship.

With that said, I wouldn't be surprised if the Pistons repeat this year.

</div>Have you seen the Suns explosive offense the whole season? Its been almost impossible to stop. The Suns also are a pretty well rounded defensive squad. Marion is one of the canidates for DPOY.

Again show me a team in the past 20 years without a defense that actually won the championship.

It's laughable for you to tell me that "The Suns also are a pretty well rounded defensive squad", do you have stats to back up your statement? FYI, The Suns allow 103.3 pts/game, do you know how does that rank among all the teams in the NBA?

OMG, they rank 30th (dead last) in points allowed per game, great defense indeed!!!

No but they do have pretty good defense to shut down teams IN the playoffs, which is pretty much what this thread is about. When I said "pretty good defensive squad" I meant what they could be for the playoffs. Yes the Suns didn`t have the best defense stat-wise but I think they`ll come pumped and ready with defense for the playoffs.

Pistons in the east(If Detriot stoped shaq in the finals last year they'll stop him this year in the eastern coference championship)
Spurs in the west(best team in the nba with Tim Duncan)

    Sprurs win it all.

The Conference Finals will most likely come down to the Pistons and Heat, but alot of saying "Heat will win no doubt" and such. But the Pistons already know how to shut down Shaq from last years championship. Now I know the team isn`t just Shaq with players like D-Wade, Eddie Jones, and a well rounded Miami team, but thats what makes the teams so even, their practically the same talent-wise.
