This draft can get very interesting for Timberwolves fans. They have a ton of options on where they can go, they can go with a swingman (say Francisco Garcia of Louisville), they can go with a center (maybe Sheldon Williams of Duke or Johan Petro the youngster out of France or they can go with a point guard (Mardy Collins of Temple). I would like to see the Timberwolves take a chance on Francisco Garcia; he is 6'8" and can play three positions on the court. Draftcity is comparing him to a Reggie Miller type of player with a worse shot.

Then again it all depends on where the Wolves finish in the lottery (or if they make the playoffs), Garcia's stock has been falling as of late but he can bring that back up with the workouts.

Yeah, I definitely know what Garcia is capable of, after seeing him from his years at Louisville(unfortuneatly hes leaving!). But, before we even think about a swingman, I think we need to put our main focus on a pointguard or center. Those are out obvious needs. More than anything, I think it needs to be a center. Olowokandi and EJ just aren't going to cut it, not to mention, and undersized Mark Madsen. We definitely need to get ourselves a big post player who can play the center spot, from this draft, unless we can work out a trade, or free up some cap space and sign someone. Then, I say, we go for a pointguard with our second pick.

A bigman is definately is option #1 for the Wolves in the draft this year but I would not draft Sean May tho..I dont know something just tells me he is the type of guy that wont really be as effective on the NBA level. His size is more mass then strenght in my opinion, so he can over power those on the college level but I dont think he will be able to do that in the NBA. And his lateral quickness has not really been tested on the college level like it would be in the pro...

BTW, I not for sure why Draftcity is comparing Fransico to Reggie, cause Fransico is much more of a playmaker then Reggie Miller was/is, not to say that Fransico is better that would be crazy of me...Iam just saying playmaking for others was never really a strong point in RM's game. And I think it very much is for Garcia. Gracia is decent running off screens and playing without the ball but no way close to Reggie Miller so they dont even really share similar strong points, hard comparsion too see, maybe Iam missing something. But the Wolves dont need Gracia, even tho Iam praying for the BX kid to be successful with all the struggles he has recently gone thru...fact is the Wolves just dont need him. They already have years and big contracts invested into wing players, even if they let Spree walk this offseason there is still the long term deals of Wally & Trenton, plus the Wolves are going to have to start using Ebi soon so they can get a legit couple of years look at him before his rookie contract is up.

I think we need a PG badly.

I would love to get either Deron Williams or Luther Head. I have been reading good things about Deron.

The only time we get a center if we win the first pick. Even then, I have my doubts on Bogut.

As for draffting a PG, I love Sam, but he is just too unreliable with his injuries. Unless we could keep him to come of the bench, which would be great, but I dont see that happening since he can start on anoter team.

I guess we definetely need a big man, we have for a long time. Olowokandi has been playing great, but i dont know about him. Is he finally going to play like he was supposed to? or is he just having a good stretch. I just dont know, but if he is gonna be playing well, maybe he can finally be valuable to the team.

I like Sean May, but as mentioned, he is more dominant when he doesn't really have anyone to match him. And there are people to mathc him in the NBA, so he might not be as effective.

I dont think Luther Head would convert to a point guard when he enters the league because his best asset is the fact that he can come off screens and shoot the basketball, so he will probably be somewhat of a smaller 2-guard.
