I was just wondering, who's the best European player in NBA in your opinion and who much influence in NBA do European players have?

I think the best European player in NBA is Dirk Nowitzki by far.He averages double-double at the moment 26.6 ppg and 10.0 rpg,and he is a leader of his team. But there are other players like Gasol,Stojakovic,Ilgauskas,Parker,Krstic,
Pietrus,Radmanovic,Nesterovic,Turkoglu,Giricek...that play big roles in their teams.
So give me yor opinion of the influence that European players have in NBA.

It is pretty arguable. For this year you would definately go with Nash, but overall I would go with Nowitzki.

Top Five

- Dirk Nowitzki
- Steve Nash
- Yao Ming
- Manu Ginobili
- Peja Stojakovic

I wouldn't consider the Virgin Islands foreign, or else it would of course be Tim Duncan. I just think Nowitzki is the most complete player out of all of them. Shooting from distance is a key, and he is the best guy over seven foot to shoot the ball so well. He is also averaging over ten boards per game. Impressive.

Mentionable

- Pau Gasol
- Andrei Kirilenko
- Tony Parker
- Zydrunas Ilgauskas

There are a few that I like and the best is probably Dirk Nowitzki. I like Dirk but my favourites are Tony Parker and Manu Ginobli. Those two are magicians on the court.

Maybe the question should be international...

European players:
Dirk
Andrei
Parker
Pau
Peja

Crap ; I instinctively just went with all international players. Nowitzki is still the best.

I`m going with international. Dirk at 7 foot stands out of all of them with his amazing shooting but then comes stars such as Peja, Kirilenko, Ginobli, just to name a few. If you look at the NBA now, you notice how much of the NBA stars are from different countries.

I was thinking Ginobli as Euro player in the NBA. I don't have any back up to it, except that he made his first All-Star apperance this year. He's just the first person that came to mind.

My Euro Team:
C - Zydrunas Ilgauskas (spelling?)
PF-Dirk Nowitzki
SF - Andrei Kirilenko
SG-Peja Stojackivich
PG - Manu Ginobli
6th Man - Pau Gasol

My International Team:
C- Yao Ming (Chinese)
PF- Dirk Nowitzki (German)
SF - Manu Ginobli [(?)even though he is too small]
SG - Peja Stojackivich (?)
PG - Steve Nash (Canadian)

Best European has to be Dirk Nowitzki hands down.

Stats do not lie:

26.7 points per game
10 boards
3.1 assists
1.51 blocks and 1.29 steals a game

He is also the best player on the 5th best team in the NBA.

manu is from argentina, so you should take him out of your euro team

Peja and Manu should be switched. Peja is 6'10 and naturally plays SF, while Manu often plays SG.

Dirk is the MVP for his team, so it's gotta be him.

Dirk Nowitzki

The guy can flat out score. He can score you the big points when he has to. He is the Mavericks MVP for sure. He is a dynamic and impact player.

I think the European players have a lot of value to this league. They can shoot. They have speed. They can go attack the rim. They are fun to watch especially Manu.

Even Charles Barkley has taken a liking to European players and he rarely says anything good about NBA players.
