...this is the first time i have had this feeling of being almost unbeatable. Now obviously we are no where near the best team in the NBA, but every game the Warriors play I almost expect a win, no matter who they are playing. Granted I'm only 20 years old, but I have been a Warriors fan for a while and this is a new feeling for me.

I can't wait till next year!

Baron Davis has really changed this team in a drastically positive way. I can actually bear to watch whole Golden State games without changing the channel. Just watching the team play I can definitely see them in the playoffs next year (barring injury of course).

Rudeezy, you're not a true fan. I'm such a fan of the Knicks, my biasness makes me feel as if we can beat any team!

Just kidding on the true fan part, but that's great. The Warriors are finally reqrding their fans with some good basketball. It's a sign of things to come next season. I want Golden State to win (so my lottery bound Knicks can get a higher positioning in the draft! [IMG])

Right on Rudeezy. I'm 23 and this is definitely a new feeling for all of us W's fans. I was talking with my brother yesterday, he's 26, and its like we expect them to put in a good fight and get a W each and every game. The next few games should be interesting. I'm looking forward to the Rockets game, the last time they saw each other it was close and the W's were just starting to gain some confidence and momentum.

I'd like to think the excitement level is at or surpassing the level it was when Avery was the PG with Spree at SG, Mully at SF, Webber at PF, and Seikaly at C...

Our new JBB team title should be, "Bring it: any team, any place, any time"

Great idea YAF. We should change our forum slogan soon since we aren't as mediocre as we used to be. We've all waited 11-12 years to finally break this curse since Cohan arrived and it's about freakin' time. He had just better follow through as an owner and shell out green like Eddie Debartolo so we can make up for all those lost years.

I hear ya Rudeezy. Hopefully we can mix a little bit of Run TMC with some low post presence and smothering defense. Otherwise we'll be another one of those early exit playoff teams. I know some of us just wanted to make the 8th seed, but screw that, let's get as far as we can get and suprise people with a team that can go dee into the playoffs and hasn't been to the playoffs in over decade.

new JBB Warriors slogan: "Chad Ford has to show us some love now"

I have been talking about a new slogan for a few days now. I think it should be "I can't wait until next year" or "Barring major injuries, this year we should make the playoffs"

As a basketball fan since the 50's---I was young then,as I recall,I have seen good Warrior teams,Wilt,Nate,Rick Barry,Bernard King, then the Run TMC crew, though they disn't get that far (damn you Webber!),but it had begun to seem like being a Cubs fan. The W's have a ways to go, but the idea that I EXPECT they will win 1/2 their games next season is something I only dimmly remember from before.

Webber definitely blew it. We would have a true franchise player that plays inside right there in addition to Spree, Mullin, and Timmy Hardaway. I only remember the era of Run TMC and anything before that I can't remember. In a lot of ways we are like the Cubs fans. I hope we're more like the Red Sox though. I predict at least a 48 win season next season if we're playing somehwat healthy. I think Baron Davis likes this team because he said something in the mercury newspaper that we need to put this team in the freezer to save it for next season.

Check this out: We're 17th in Marc Stein's power rankings for last week.

I won't celebrate it until we actually have a good record, just because we met number of bad lucks over a decade. But, yeah. Ever since Webber's first year, I can't remember feeling this positive. I mean, when was the last time that beating 3rd best team in West (even thought they were injured) at home become a normal thing for us? Especially, when just couple months ago, this vicotry would have caused all-night party. Of course, we probably are playing better than what we actually are, but I am enjoying this moment...

Things are most certainly looking up for us Warrior fans. Being a fan of the Warriors since 2001, I really don't remember "the good ol' days" but I definately am looking forward to them comming in the very near future. If they can keep this team together without Cohan screwing it up somehow, this team will DEFINATELY be in the playoffs come the end of next season. Go W'S!

PS: I Love Custodian's new sig!

I have been a fan since the early '70s and got to celebrate the '75 team and watch the '76 disaster (best record in West, loss to Alvin Adams and Suns) then a bad lull until some decent ball with Sleepy Floyd in the mid '80s, then run TMC and finally that '94 team.

The excitement I see is a godsend, thank you Baron and Hornets. The only downer I have even heard is potentially that Baron may clash with Monty. I certainly hope not because no team has ever won without a strong coach, someone that the players will respect. Baron has made all the difference in the world, wow, the Warriors were dead in the water with little promise (JRich is an exciting player but he was never going to make the others better, Baron has.)

If that is the case, then the W's should fire monty and bring in some ringer because Baron Davis is the main reason that the Warriors are having all of this success recently.

Have there been any direct quotes from either Baron or Monty that would hint at a rift between them?

It seems that the Bay Area reporters just like to pick on the Warriors, I'm hoping this is just an issue that Kawakami made up in one of his recent articles. Baron is vocal, and inevitably is the other person the media hears other than Monty during games. From all that's been said, it seems everyone is on board for next year and ready and raring to get to know each other even better.

I don't understand why some want Monty fired. He's got the promise of being a great coach once he finds out what his players are capable of in various situations. He's going with what works now because we finally have a difference maker that can run the plays. The warriors are executing nicely out of timeouts, so I know Monty is a big part of that. That's just my opinion though about our coach. He's a very pragmatic type of guy that doesn't have an ego. This was a learning year for him obviously and if Mullin really was thinking playoffs he would have gotten a veteran coach. Based on that and his coaching character + bball smarts, Monty is here to stay. We do not want to keep continually replacing coaches as a franchise.

He's actually turned Foyle into a decent passer. Tied his career high in assists Wednesday and has 5 tonight (new career high) and counting against the Phoenix suns.
