<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Cavaliers did not have to search far when it came to motivation on Sunday afternoon.

A week ago, the Mavericks routed the Cavs by 31 points in Dallas, the most lopsided loss this season. Since the Mavs are one of the NBA's best road teams, another blowout appeared in store.

But not at the Cavs' expense.

A huge first-quarter run, some solid defense and an emotional lift following two ejections inspired the Cavs to a 100-80 victory.

"They stomped us the last time we played," Ira Newble said. "We didn't play well at all in Dallas. We didn't play any defense, and we didn't play with any toughness at all. We wanted to come out early with a statement and we did."

The Cavs outscored the Mavs, 31-14, in the first quarter and led by 12 at the half, but Dallas tied the score in the final minute of the third quarter following a Robert "Tractor" Traylor foul on Jerry Stackhouse, which led to Traylor's ejection after he threw his sweatband into the seats.

"I thought it was a clean block," Traylor said. "I didn't know that was a rule [getting tossed out when throwing an object into the stands]. I've seen it done before and no one was tossed out. I guess that's one of the new rules.

"I'm just glad we were able to still pull it out."

Drew Gooden quickly followed Traylor to the locker room when he threw his headband as well.

"I didn't know at the time that it's an automatic ejection when you throw something into the stands," Gooden said. "It costs to learn. I was just mad. I'm happy now because we won."

After Stackhouse hit four consecutive free throws to tie the game at 56, Michael Finley nailed a 3-pointer for a 59-56 lead with nine seconds left. But James flipped a shot from midcourt as he was fouled by Finley and was rewarded three free throws. It quickly became four when Finley received a technical for arguing. James nailed all four free throws and the Cavs led for good.

James finished with 37 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists, playing all 48 minutes and shifting to point guard for most of the fourth quarter. Zydrunas Ilgauskas had 21 points and 16 rebounds and Newble had 14 points and nine rebounds.

"I've been saying that I'm not going to get tired," said James. "No matter how many minutes I play. I'm so determined to get to the playoffs right now that I can't afford to get tired." </div> Source

I also wondered when it became a set in stone rule about throwing headbands result in an ejection. I swear I've saw someone do it this year and only get a tech.

Needless to say, the toss-happy ref really seemed to inspire the team, especially lebron.
