Sup, man? Well the other night after work I called up Sports Radio 610, and talked about this. They said if the 76ers make the playoffs that the 2nd round pick is forefited over to someone else from a previous trade. Which would leave us with absolutely nothing.

But they also said that Billy King is always one of the most active people on draft day, so no one knows what will happen this time round.

They also said that every that will make the highschool jump this year will be garbage for about 3-4 seasons. In other words, there is no one special even that dude Green.

Yeah, it kinda blows but I think we will pick up a good young player anyways.

Also, your welcome. You should call up the radio sometimes. It's easy, just hit #610 on any cellphone.

They do not have a first round pick. It is "top eight protected" meaning that if the Sixers do not get into the playoffs and finish in the lottery and some how get lucky and get a pick above eightk then we would still have our pick. But as it stands now (in the playoffs) we don't not have ANY kind of draft pick.

The 76ers don't have many options for this years draft because we've traded all of our first round picks. I don't think it hurts us that bad because the upcoming draft isn't that talented in the first place. As for the second round picks I think we should look for size and a backup point guard, mainly a player who can handle a team like a Chris Duhon type player.

^Well said. Look for a player that can bring size and decent rebounding. A backup PG would be great also. Yeah from what I hear there isn`t alot to get in the draft but Draft 2006 I heard is supposed to be loaded, hopefully next season we can work something out to get a good 1st rounder.

I know, but what I`m saying is that maybe the Sixers could make out a trade down the road that could score a 1st rounder.

yeah, OK, who could we trade away that's worth a first rounder, i mean, it seems like sammy is staying, korver is staying, i doubt they would trade cwebb, AI and AI, so who do they have to trade? the only thought is willie, but would any team want him for a first rounder? maybe we can sign a decent free agent, although i doubt we will.

I agree, Willie is the only player we could trade away for a decent pick, plus he isn`t really fitting into O`Briens coaching plans.

The guys on the radio when I called said that for the 76ers to make it anywhere with AI, they need a Big PG and then move Allen back to the SG.

What do they mean by big? Like 6'4?

I was thinking something else..what you guys think about Daniel Ewing from Duke? I mean if we don't make it this year we could seriously consider him. He is very capable of playing PG in the NBA and could compliment Iverson nicely, and plus he can play a little bit of SG, but really he's going to be more of a PG in the NBA than a combo guard in my opinion.

I know everyone wants to draft someone on draft day no matter who good their team does, but Philly is solid. Korver, Sammy D, Iguodala and the rest of their young guys are only going to get better. Also now that Webber has a chance to gel with Iverson. I don't really think this team needs anyone from the draft...just time. If The 76ers don't make the playoffs and end up with the pick and Green is available, than maybe they should take him and wait for him to develop. They have enough time for that.

I agree. One thing Sixers need is a solid backup power forward. Rodney Rogers and Josh Davis are far from it. They're pretty undersized and are only good at shooting three's, not rebounding and banging in down low. All the other positions are solid, I mean we've got Iverson, Salmons, Green, Korver and Iguodala making up the backcourt and small forward spot. Meanwhile, Dalembert and Jackson are both pretty decent centers.

That?s exactly what Philly should not do. Allen Iverson is thriving at point guard and is arguably having his best season ever. If the 76ers were to move him back to shooting guard it'd be too much of a risk and he'd have to re-adjust into JO's offense, which is a bad idea.

On the other hand I really think we need to draft a PG as well. Alongside are big men are PG is probably the position the Sixers lack most depth at. We don't just need any ole' point guard either, we need a point that can come off the bench and make plays, and run the offense if Allen is struggling or needs rest.
