<div class="quote_poster">Quoting yao ming:</div><div class="quote_post">any chance for sixers getting gerald green or dee brown?</div> In my opinion, no. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Silky Smooth:</div><div class="quote_post">That?s exactly what Philly should not do. Allen Iverson is thriving at point guard and is arguably having his best season ever. If the 76ers were to move him back to shooting guard it'd be too much of a risk and he'd have to re-adjust into JO's offense, which is a bad idea. On the other hand I really think we need to draft a PG as well. Alongside are big men are PG is probably the position the Sixers lack most depth at. We don't just need any ole' point guard either, we need a point that can come off the bench and make plays, and run the offense if Allen is struggling or needs rest.</div> Sure Allen Iverson is thriving at point guard and is having his best season ever, but the truth remains, the Sixers aren't getting any better. They're a .500 team never able to get over the hump and still fighting for playoff position. I think we could be a much better team if he wasn't in control of the ball so much, I mean we've got players like Korver, Green, Dalembert, Webber, and Salmons. Many of the players are good defenders as well, reminiscent of the Eastern Conference Champions team, but the difference is, Iverson's at point. A lot of it has to do with O'Brien's system, but you do have to credit it with Iverson too. If you do want to keep Iverson at point guard, theres only going to be about ten minutes that someone else will get to play and we've got Salmons and Green for that. If we draft a point guard a still play Iverson at point, it would be pretty meaningless since O'Brien no doubt would keep Iverson in at like 40 minutes per game so the rookie would barely get any minutes unless he's a swingman.
well, i say we trade iverson for some good you rookies, like maybe josh smith and josh childress, both form atlanta so we could work out trades. then, we should have a pretty young team built for the future. also trade away ollie and mckie.

By trying to get Webber, it seems like the organizations just trying to stretch out the Iverson era a bit longer while they can. But by doing so, to me it seems like they've dug a hole a bit deeper for the future. No one can honestly say Philadelphia's ever going to win a championship with this team and coach. And with Webber's and Iverson's huge contracts, it'll be hard to dump them to other teams. Plus Webber's aging and I don't see Iverson being as productive as he is in like three or four years. However, Iverson's just been here so long and just has so much heart that if he gets traded away, Philadelphia would lose a lot of fanbase, which equals less money for the front office. The truth is, I don't think we'll ever be trading Iverson away since he's the face of this current franchise and because his contract is pretty hefty.
