<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">On Saturday, both Leo and Andy Rautins will be making their coming-out party in front of the GTA fraternity, Leo as Canada's newly named national men's coach and Andy, who will be playing his first game in the Toronto area.

The occasion is the second annual Adidas All-Canadian Game, to be played at the Hershey Centre (2 p.m.). Leo Rautins will have both eyes on the on-court talent and sporting a headset as he serves as an analyst for TSN.

"I want these kids to know that if they bust their tails off, they have a chance to play at the national level,'' Rautins said. "And maybe that day will arrive sooner than later."

As a high school kid in the '70s, Rautins became the youngest player to play on the national team.

For reasons only Canada Basketball can explain, kids, especially those from the inner city, have been overlooked in the past and that bitter taste lingers to this day.

Rautins is trying to change that perception and has asked national team staff member Greg Francis, a star at Oakwood who later attended Fairfield, to work with today's youth.

Rautins has worked with Ryan Wright of Loyola and West Hill's Jevohn Shepherd. Wright will be among the players competing on Saturday.

"It's important for me to get to know all these kids,'' Rautins said. "I'm going to see more of them in the future. I'm looking forward to Saturday because it presents a great opportunity for the kids to play and for me to see them compete."

Andy Rautins has dual citizenship. Like his father, Andy will be attending Syracuse and hopefully one day he'll be representing Canada on the international stage. </div> Source
