Nice win. Roye is ok, he's no King or Pappa though

?Give credit to our guys but give credit to Portland for coming back tonight. They?re still competing. We?re up 19 points in the second quarter and really, for the way we?ve been playing the last two weeks, to give up that lead was very uncharacteristic of our team. We?re pleased to get away with a win, but we?re treating these games like playoff games and really, 30 some wins around here has been a big stretch for a long time. Our two go-to guys go 9-35 from the floor, but guys off the bench, especially Pietrus, really played well.? On Baron Davis:
?He brings a lot of leadership to this team. He can go left or right, he makes players better and sometimes our guys kind of stand around and wait for him to force feed them, but really, we haven?t had him very many practices at all, and guys are still learning how to play with him. The thing I love about Baron is he delivers the ball on time. You don?t have to wait, you don?t have to reach, the ball is delivered on time and it?s delivered to you. He?s a true point guard.?

    On play at the end
?Murphy did a great job at rebounding the ball and I told him he did a great job there at the end, but he told me to give the credit to Adonal Foyle for tipping the ball to him in both cases. He went after the ball though and our guys made plays.?

    [IMG] Baron Davis
?I think we just fell asleep in the second and third quarters and allowed them to get going. When you get in a groove like that, you can?t afford to let up. Right now we?re just playing hard. We?re getting shots offensively and getting our hands on the ball defensively. Like you saw down the stretch, we made hustle plays. Not all of them went our way, but we?re making those plays. Our backcourt is playing well together. I?m looking forward to next year.?
    [IMG] Troy Murphy
?They made a real good comeback. They played hard and that is a testimate to them and their coaching staff. I?m just going to try and go in and get double figure rebounds. That ?s my job. We?ve had guys who have been playing well. We?re dangerous offensively with a player like Baron Davis now.?

Quote:

PORTLAND, Ore., April 6 (Ticker) -- Despite no hope of a playoff spot, Baron Davis and Troy Murphy are helping the Golden State Warriors play their best basketball of the season.

Murphy and Davis scored 22 points apiece and led six players in double figures as the Warriors won their season-high seventh straight game, a 104-102 triumph over the Portland Trail Blazers.

Golden State, which has not been in the postseason since 1994, has won six straight road contests for the first time since the 1968-1969 season, when they were known as the San Francisco Warriors. Portland has lost six consecutive games.

Murphy made a long jumper to put the Warriors on top, 102-98, with 3:47 remaining. After Davis made 1-of-2 free throws with 2:10 to play, Ruben Patterson converted a three-point play for Portland with 1:57 left, cutting the deficit to 103-101.

Davis and Portland's Joel Przybilla each split a pair from the line. The Trail Blazers got the rebound of Przybilla's missed free throw, but Damon Stoudamire's potential game-winning 3-pointer missed at the buzzer.

Mike Dunleavy scored 17 points, Davis had 11 assists and Murphy grabbed 12 rebounds for the Warriors, who have won 10 of 11.

The Trail Blazers trailed by 19 points in the first half but rallied with a 17-3 run in the second half highlighted by a pair of 3-pointers by Stoudamire to take a 92-91 lead with 6:42 to go.

Patterson scored a season-high 27 points, Shareef Abdur-Rahim added 21 and Stoudamire had a triple-double with 13, 12 rebounds and 10 assists for the Trail Blazers, who have lost 50 games for the first time since 1973-1974.

Quoting jzblaze:

No Randolph or Miles. Not to be negative but it does seem like they've been playing a lot of teams that are missing key players. If I just saw the pic I'd say it was 50/50 he made that dunk

I also noticed that the warriors have been playing teams that have injured players. But at least they are taking advantage of it.

Friday's game against the Suns will be a true test of this teams abilty. THe suns are a great road team, htey are playing really well, I think 6 straight and they probably want to avenge the loss they took against the warriors last time.

We've done pretty well against the Suns even without BDiddy. Remember that game that went into overtime on our home floor and we ended up losing? We should have won that but some of our players could just not take advantage of the sun's poor defense inside. That was the night The Matrix was shutting down Jrich and Troy Murphy was still hurt and few others could step up.

Well at least we came back since we were losing, but Speedy, Dunleavy were finding out they could get to the rim pretty easily since Amare doesn't play much defense.

I think the 2 huge tests will be at Denver and Minnesota because those will be like road playoff games. You know Denver and Minnesota will give all they got cause they need to get into the playoffs.

BRING IT ON!!, I want to see the Warriors duke it out and beat some of these so called top tier playoff teams. Starting from tonight, I hope we can manhandle the Suns like we did last time.

The Nugs and Suns are a good test,The Nugs have been very hot lately and it has been a Suns year all the way. Those, and Miami,or the Spurs would say the most about where the W's are at.

I have noticed that too. Was anyone injured during the Suns game?
