Courtking's Big Board (Edited: 5/7/05)

Courtking?s Big Boards as of 5/7/2005

    1) Andrew Bogut // Utah // 7? // NBA Position: Center ? Stock: Up

The Australian native has been wowing NBA scouts all season with his productive numbers (20 points, 12 rebounds per game)

    2) Chris Paul // Wake Forest // 5?11? // NBA Position: Point Guard ? Stock: No Change

Paul is a player that is ?on the fence? about coming out, his stock could have improved greatly if Wake Forest would have made it past West Virginia in the second round.

    3) Marvin Williams // North Carolina // 6?9? // NBA Position: Forward ? Stock: No Change

Scouts don?t like Marvin Williams, they love him. They are crazy about his potential and athletic ability that he showed the past season at North Carolina. He may not play right away, but scouts say this kid is worth the wait.

    4) Deron Williams // Illinois // 6?3? // NBA Position: Point Guard ? Stock: Up

Williams has improved his stock the past two weeks by leading Illinois to the championship game. In the process he shut down Louisville forward Francisco Garcia and shut down North Carolina guard Rashad Mccants in the second half.

    5) Raymond Felton // North Carolina // 6?1? // NBA Position: Point Guard ? Stock: Up

Felton is the second of four possible lottery picks for the North Carolina Tarheels. Felton, along with Deron Williams improved his stock at the championship game, as he hit four of five three pointers.

    6) Martynas Andriuskevicius // International // 7?2? // NBA Position: Center ? Stock: No Change

Martynas made his edibility for the draft official the past week, meaning that there is no backing out now. The center has two huge upsides and that is 7?2? and his potential.

    7) Gerald Green // High School // 6?7? // NBA Position: Guard/Forward ? Stock: Up

Green's stock has been shooting up the board as of late and he is still getting those comparisons to Tracy Mcgrady. Some say Green can go as high as number five to Portland. But if I were the Knicks, sitting there at number eight with Green on the board I would have to jump on him.

    8) Chris Taft // Pittsburgh // 6?10? // NBA Position: Forward ? Stock: No change

Taft is a power forward whose stock is currently based on his potential, his poor work ethic and low level of motivation can cause him to fall lower in this draft.

    9) Nemanja Aleksandrov // International // 6?10? // NBA Position: Forward ? Stock: No change

A very young player (only at age 18) and still a very raw player. Aleksandrov isn?t getting the same hype as he was for last years draft where he was considered a top 5 pick.

    10) Martell Webster // High School Senior // 6'7" // NBA Position: Guard/Forward - Stock:Up

Some are saying the best high school player in the draft for this kid and I believe them. He has the ability to score from anywhere on the court and his only weakness is that he relies on his outside shot too much which can be easily fixed. I don't expect Webster to fall past Orlando at 11.

    11) Fran Vazquez // International // 6?10? // NBA Position: Forward ? Stock: No change

Vazquez can be one of the possible three international lottery picks in this years draft. He has great size at 6-10, he is currently playing for the Spain Malaga team.

    12) Hakim Warrick // Syracuse // 6?9? // NBA Position: Forward ? Stock: Down

This is what I can't understand, Hakim Warrick, nation title in Syracuse, one of the most dominate big man in the country yet Chris Taft is going to be picked in front of him. If any college fan watched Warrick play you would understand, everytime another team drives the lane you see fear in their eyes when they see Warrick and who can forget that dunk in the title game against Kansas. Hakim should be going top ten, but this potential thing with players such as Chris Taft will force Warrick to drop possibly as low as 22. I'll consider Warrick a steal after the pick number 12.

    13) Tiago Splitter // International // 6?11? // NBA Position: Forward ? Stock: No change

Yet another player in this lottery that is going to have potential taged on him for a while. Still very raw and weak a team will have to take their time with Splitter. A team like Charlotte, the Bucks, or the Blazers can take a chance at him.

    14) Sean May // North Carolina // 6?9? // NBA Position: Power Forward ? Stock: Up

His stock along with Gerald Green has been sky rocketing as well. The NCAA's where May put the Tarheels on his back and carried them to the national title really secured May a lottery pick. The Lakers at 10, the Clippers at 12, and the Timberwolves at 14 are all possible spots.

    15) Rashad Mccants // North Carolina // 6?3? // NBA Position: Guard ? Stock: Down

Mccants' stock has been going down fast, some are even saying as late as the late first round or the early second round. I don't believe that will happen. I will be shocked if Mccants slips past sitting at 21 or possibly even Denver moving up with their two picks to grab him at 15.
