<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">CLEVELAND - The Cavaliers have done their digging in. Now, they hope that they've constructed a bunker and not a grave.

Starting with momentous back-to-back games tonight against the New Jersey Nets and Wednesday at the Indiana Pacers, the Cavaliers begin the season's final 10 games with their destination still very much up in the air.

In what is probably a best-case scenario, the Cavaliers could secure the No. 6 seed in the Eastern Conference and actually draw home-court advantage in the first round due to a quirk in the rules. Worst case, they could miss the postseason for the seventh consecutive year.

The game plan for the stretch run will put even more weight on LeBron James as he will play significant time at point guard as it appears the decision-makers have given up on Jeff McInnis. McInnis' relationship with coach Brendan Malone has eroded, and it is questionable whether he'll see meaningful playing time for the rest of the season.

McInnis didn't play in the second half against the Sacramento Kings last Friday and didn't play at all Sunday in the team's victory over the Dallas Mavericks.

``It's a coach's decision,'' Malone said. ``Backed by the general manager.''

McInnis didn't speak to the media after practice Monday. If nothing else, the series of events seem to cement the month-old notion that McInnis won't be back after his contract expires this summer.

``Jeff doesn't want to make waves,'' said Steve Kauffman, McInnis' agent. ``We don't understand this. If you look at the last two seasons, when Jeff plays well, the Cavs play well.''

Kauffman pointed out that Cavaliers are 20-10 when McInnis scores 15 or more points.

``Jeff wears his emotions on his sleeve,'' Kauffman said. ``That does not mean he is a bad person.''

The benching is an ironic juxtaposition, considering McInnis was acquired from the Portland Trail Blazers when the Cavaliers abandoned the idea of using James as a point guard last season.</div> Source

Cleveland is making a lot of moves to not make it to the playoffs. First they fire Silas, then a report comes out that Paxson is gone, and now they want to transition LeBron back to the point guard role?

Cavs have a REALLY GOOD chance of missing the playoffs. Honestly, I don't see LeBron re-signing with Cleveland.

I still think they will pull it out..... LBJ will or wont resign with the cavs based on what happens THIS offseason.

I think too that Cleveland will pull it out and LeBron I think will only stay if they get some better players on the team to help LeBron and the coaching postions. If James is not happy, he`ll probably be packing his bags.

Or if there is a similar situation elsewhere talent wise but there is an oppurtunity for more money via endorsements in a bigger market (NY, LA)

I doubt and hope doesn`t want to leave just for money or talent going to big name cities such as LA and NY. I mean when LeBron was drafted didn`t he say "I want to play for the Cavaliers."?
