<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">In at least one way Kevin McHale has one thing very much in common with Flip Saunders, the man he replaced as Timberwolves coach some weeks ago: He's trying to find the key to getting consistently strong contributions from center Michael Olowokandi.

As there have been since he came here before the 2003-04 season, Olowokandi is capable of pretty good things. He averaged 11.3 points and 7.3 rebounds in the Wolves' recently completed 2-1 road trip, and that included a double-double in a victory over the Los Angeles Lakers and a 7-for-8 shooting performance against Sacramento.

But this three-game stretch came after Olowokandi totaled only 15 points in the four games leading up to that road trip. Still, Olowokandi has started at center in eight of the Wolves' past nine games, and the Wolves are 6-2 in those games.

One key? Keeping Olowokandi on the court. And that means his avoiding foul trouble.

"It's hard to be effective when you're sitting next to the coach," McHale said. "He's just got to stay on the floor. ... Defense-wise, he's been doing a good job of covering the basket. He and Eddie [Griffin] have done a good job there."</div>
