I say If he's still on the board GET Bogut! We need another C to help Brezec out and plus Ely is more capable of playing the PF position instead of Center. Our 2nd choice for Center could be Martynas Andriuskevicius, he seems to be pretty decent, he probably won't contribute as quickly as opposed to Bogut, but if we let him develop for a while it could pay off BIG. As for our 2nd pick in the 1st round, We need another SF that can fill in for Wallace better, as opposed to Jason Kapono who is better as a spark off the bench. Some of our options could be to trade up for Gerald Green(who could start at the 2) or Danny Granger, or just nab Joey Graham if he's availible. If we make a move for Bogut and trade up for Green which in my eyes would be the best way to go, the lineup would be like this: C- Bogut/Brezec/Okafor PF- Okafor/Ely/Allen SF- Wallace/G.Green/Kapono/Carroll/Smith SG- G.Green/Bogans/Rush/Kapono/Robinson/Slay PG- Knight/Hart/Alexander/Bogans That could work out pretty well in the long run.
Wow, Bogut with Okafor would be near unstoppable in the East. If Bogut does end up in Charlotte, I see a Bobcat playoff run next season.
Well Bobcats..Gerald Green, Danny Granger, Joey Graham was the best I could think of as far as as players that could fill that role of SG/SF.
Well, I believe we have 2 first rounders. I want Bogut with our first pick, and Gerald Green will probably be gone by our second pick, so Granger and Graham the the realistic choices for the SF position.
The Bobcats should land a solid player with a top 3 pick. I think they will end up with Chris Paul if he declares. Building the franchise around Okafor and Paul is the direction they want to take. Also Paul well sell tickets because he was an ACC player. Brevin Knight has been great for the Bobcats, but he's old and the Bobcats need to develop a young backcourt player. Jason Hart will be a solid backup to Chris Paul. I agree they need another Swing position player. Gerald Wallace did a great job for them this year. He's an underrated defender in the league, and he's only going to get better. Unfortunately, he's going to be a free agent, and I'm not sure if he sticks around for the rebuilding process. All those players mentioned above make sense in Charlotte, I doubt Granger is there when the Bobcats next pick comes up. Joey Graham should be there, in the JBB Mock we had Hakim Warrick being taken by them. Another big name college player to go with Chris Paul and Emeka Okafor. I think Joey Graham is the better defender, but Warrick is the better scorer. The Bobcats have a lot of options, but either Graham or Warrick will be solid for their franchise.
I'd rather not have Paul. We already have Knight who is a top 3 PG (passing wise) and Jason Hart is also good. Either of those two guys are solid starters. And if either of them gets injured we always have Keith Bogans who is also a good ball handler and distributer.

At 30 years old, I think Knight would rather play for a contending team than be a part of an expansion franchise. I can see Knight signing with the Warriors and playing for his former college coach, Mike Montgomery. Jason Hart is not NBA starter material at PG. He's a great 2nd option off the bench, but one of the most important positions to fill after Center is Point Guard. Of course if Bogut and Paul are both there, they should definitely take Bogut. But I don't think Bogut will slip by the Hawks who have the same needs as the Bobcats.
Jason Hart is a good starting PG. He can give the Bobcats 12, 2, 7 consistently everynight. I guess if Knight doesn't resign and Bogut isn't on board, I guess we could take Paul.
I almost forgot about Hakim Warrick..I say go after Warrick with the second 1st rounder if he's still on the board. This is what our lineup would look like if Wallace doesn't resign. And I'm unsure of the future of Allen, Knight and Slay, so I will not include them as of yet. C- Andrew Bogut/Primoz Brezec/Emeka Okafor PF- Emeka Okafor/Melvin Ely/Hakim Warrick SF- Hakim Warrick/Jason Kapono/Theron Smith SG- Keith Bogans/Matt Carroll/Kareem Rush/Bernard Robinson PG- Jason Hart/Cory Alexander/Keith Bogans I think that sounds about right.
Since it's unlikely they get the first pick and I highly doubt Bogut slips away from them, the most logical choice is to go with Chris Paul, assuming he declares. No matter what you say, he is the best choice after Bogut. Knight is getting up there in age, and as shape said, will likely want to play for a contender come next year. Hart is not starting material. If he was starting material, they'd have kept him at starter over Knight. He can do good for them coming off the bench. Also, about Wallace. I really don't know why he wouldn't resign with them. If he stays there, he's got a very bright future ahead of him. He'll be one of the cornerstones of this organization for years to come if he chooses to. Plus, at the ripe young age of 22, soon to be 23, he's still got plenty of room for improvement. I think his best choice is definitely Charlotte and it's likely that they'll look to keep him there.
I see where your're coming from, but that lineup was put in a "what if" sort of way just in case Wallace and Knight doesn't resign with the team. And why would it be unlikely that they will get the 1st pick? you don't always have to have the worst record(Atlanta) to have a chance at 1st pick.
If the Bobcats do land the first pick in the 2005 draft, it will be a tough decision whatever the case. I am leaning more towards Chris Paul. I think he would be a better fit for the Bobcats. As much as I like Brevin and how he's performed this season, the Bobcats want to build towards the future and I don't think signing a 30+ year old PG long term would be the right thing to do. Knight is also likely to get a lot of suitors come this offseason because of his improved play. As far as Hart goes... Hart is a great defender, has really improved his shot, and always plays his hardest when he is on the floor. However, I don't see Hart being the answer for the Bobcats at PG. Hart could be a serviceable back up throughout his career. And as stated previously, Chris Paul would also draw a lot of fan support from ACC fans across North Carolina. He would be a great fit on the Bobcats. Now with Bogut, the Bobcats would be getting a player who scouts say is ready to make an immediate impact in the NBA. Bogut could be and probably is the best player in the 2005 draft, but drafting Bogut would not fill a need for the Bobcats. I like how Primoz has played, and Primoz is probably the front-runner for Most Improved Player this season. The Bobcats are content with Brezec, and I believe they are looking at him long term. Now I know I said otherwise in a different thread, that teams can always sign quality point guards through free agency and that big men with Bogut's talent and upside are hard to find, but the Bobcats already have that big man in Emeka. Emeka was the first step in building this franchise, and adding a young promising PG would be the next step. Either way, I wouldn't be disappointed. Like I said at the beginning, it will be a tough choice. We'll just have to see how workouts go. Stocks are always rising and falling during weeks counting down to the NBA Draft. But as of right now, the Bobcats' future looks bright with either of these two players. What would disappoint me is if we fall to number 3 and teams like Atlanta or New Orleans snag them up before we do. And about Wallace, I don't think he will bolt to another team. He is happy playing in Charlotte, and his future looks very bright with the Bobcats. As Shape previously stated, he is developing into one of the better defenders in the league. He could easily be one of the top 5 defenders at his position in a couple years. And defense is what this team is being built around.
