Most NFL fans especially Browns' fans might be surprised that the Cleveland Browns organization let Ross Verba go? Not me... It's not that the Browns weren't willing to restructure Verba's contract and give him the requested $35 million. It's because Verba doesn't fit into the new way of thinking set forth by Savage and Crennel. Verba's problem was that he immediately went to the press with his hold-out and demands. Verba was also in a bit of a legal mess last season regarding a wild party at his house, in which a woman claimed that friends of Verba's raped her... It was later thrown out, because the woman's girlfriend admitted it was a set-up! This should be a warning to all the players, don't take your contract woes to the press; keep it in house... and keep your nose clean off the field. There's a new sheriff in town and he's gonna clean-up this here town (Brownstown)!
The Browns signed LJ Shelton, right? You won't miss Verba. He was a punk in Green Bay, too. I'll be interested to see who signs him. Maybe the Texans?
