Omar Cook, who has been languishing in basketball's minor leagues since being waived out of the NBA in 2001 after brief stints in Denver and Dallas, is scheduled to join the Raptors in Chicago and be in uniform for tonight's game against the Bulls.

Cook is the NBDL's league leader in assists and steals, playing for the Fayetteville Patriots. </div> Source

Do Raptors even have the roster space to even sign this guy?

^ Yup, we got one roster spot available. I think.

We'll see what Cook can bring. I like the move. We have nothing to lose.
Mike Dunleavy worked him out for the Clips at the beggining of the season and was very impressed of his play, but they made commitment with Rick Brunson so there was no room for Cook.

The question is, who's minutes are going to drop, Skip or Milt?

Skip for sure, although not significantly. I think he would play about 25 minutes a game with Cook here, and Palacio about 15, which leaves around 20 minutes for Cook to showcase himself. Good addition this guy is, full of potential and lightning quick.

i like people with potential but the thing is potential is sometimes a bad thing...*cough* Kwame Brown... but i guess omar cook can run things as long as he doesnt take a lot of shots but then next year will be tough for toronto...4 pgs...wow

^It's not set in stone that we will draft a point guard or that Cook will even stay past this season. Palacio is in the last year of his contract as well. So ultimately we could be left with one point guard in Rafer Alston......as ugly as that sounds it's true.
