<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">While several NBA officials questioned Kelenna Azubuike's early exit from college, his agent, Joel Bell, spoke confidently of a bright basketball future for the now former Kentucky player.

"I feel strongly that he'll be an NBA player," Bell said.

Several NBA officials called Azubuike's entry into the draft, a decision that ended his college career after three seasons, premature. They said he needed to return to UK to work on ball-handling, creating shots against tough defenses and playing with more consistency and zeal.

But Bell, who has also represented former UK players Marquis Estill and Cliff Hawkins, disagreed.

"I believe him to be an outstanding prospect," Bell said yesterday. "He's not only a good player, he's a good person. Because of Coach (Tubby) Smith, he's improved a lot in the last three years. He's going to take this challenge and be a successful player."

Azubuike, a 6-foot-5 guard, led Kentucky in scoring this season, averaging 14.7 points. He also ranked second on the team with an average of 4.7 rebounds.

Earlier this week, Smith said he hoped to persuade Azubuike to not retain an agent. The UK coach said he wanted Azubuike to keep alive the option of returning to college.</div>

I still don't think he'll be drafted at this point. It's nothing to say that he'll make the NBA, because most borderline second round picks do eventually make some kind of NBA summer league team. It just sounds like something you would expect his agent to say.

Yeah, I mean what else do you expect the agent to say, he should go back to college. Haha. I wonder if his agent said the same thing about his previous Kentucky Wildcat players, Marquis Estill and Cliff Hawkins.

I just can't see him being drafted but if he is, it will be a late second round pick. He cannot create his own shot and is kind of clumsy on the defensive side.

I also think he chose the wrong agent. Like Shape said- look at the Kentucky players he's handled before.
