I would like the Sonics to win at least one of their remaining 5 games to clinch the 3rd spot. Of all the 5 games left the easiest will be against the Hornets. A loss by the Nuggets would give also the Sonics the 3rd spot. If the Nuggets wins all the remaining games and the Sonics lose all, the Nuggets would gain the number 3 position and it would be a nightmare for the Rockets should they finish 6th because if they are tied with the Sonics with both 50 wins the Rockets will own the tie-breaker. Anyway enough for that. I believe that the Sonics will win one of those remaining games and the Nuggets will lose one or two. There are still a lot of possibilities on the 5th,6th and 7th placing as the Kings,Rockets and Nuggets are within reach of each other. Last week the Kings need to win 48 to get into the playoffs with the Twolves still hot at that time. Now that the Twolves chances are almost gone assuring the Grizzlies the 8th spot with a win, the Kings might relax a little bit to avoid the 5th spot which might leave the Nuggets and Rockets grabbing that position. Besides the Kings are already tired of facing the Mavs in the first round for the 5th time in a row especially right now wherein the Mavs are tough to beat. If the Kings do slide I hope the Nuggets picks up the 5th spot and the Rockets maintaining the 6th spot. These are just wild ideas and possibilities. There are lot of things that can still happen.
Denver beating Golden State convincingly certainly made the win against Seattle less sweet, but we would definitely be more confident heading into the matchup against Denver.
Looks like the Rockets and Nuggets will be within a game of each other one way or another when that game rolls around. Should be a great one.
