<div class="quote_poster">Quoting VC #15:</div><div class="quote_post">KG shouldnt even be there. he got 2 great stars cassel and spree playing aside him plus olokawkandi and still missed da playoff.</div> Well, Olowakandi is subtraction by addition--in many ways his being there actually hurts the team more than helping it. I would have mentioned Wally and Troy before mentioning Kandi . As for Kobe I will say that in his defense their aren't many players who can lead teams by themselves in their first year, alone. Still, he has fallen off majorly, and the I would take Wade over him regardless of what some overly complicated efficiency formula dictates. His off court issues are no longer prevalent, so the distraction argument can't be used. He simply hasn't gotten it done, and he has killed Lamar Odom's trade value in the process.
^^^ Lamar KILLED lamars trade value.....simply, by not being aggressive even after everyone told him to. L A Z Y in my eyes.
Odom just doesn't have a dominant personality, and is very willing to take the backseat to others, hey, it happens...
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Kidds defense is nowhere near kobe's, and to sum it all up....only thing kidd has over kobe is, passing and court vision...thats all. IMO of course </div> Passing, Courtvision, Leadership, Rebounding. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Actually, Kobe is a good shooter. You think just because he's had a rough shooting season, it deems him a bad shooter? Consider the amount of double teams that are thrown at him and the amount of tough shots he has to throw up cause either no one is hitting open ones or no one is open in general, he's not a bad shooter. 43% is fairly respectable considering the way that he started off the season shooting the ball (30%ile). Beyond that, he's a 45% career shooter, 33% career from the arc, and 83% career from the line. I don't see how you can say that he's a bad shooter.</div> Don't put words in my mouth. I never said Kobe's a bad shooter. I said he's not that good of a shooter. Meaning the perimeter, mid-range etc. Kobe is an excellent slasher and can get into the lane and create contact at will. That's where he can score best IMO. He's had lots of bad and sometimes horrible shooting nights, and sometimes he's been on fire. Most of the time this season he's been shooting pretty bad though. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Also, how does trip-dubs make you a more versatile player. Personally, when I think versatile, I think of a person who can do everything and do everything well. Beyond that, a person who can play numerous positions. Both of which Kobe is capable of doing. He's a great rebounder, passer, scorer, and defender. Beyond that, he is capable of playing pg, sg, or sf depending on what his team needs him to do. To me, it's easy to see that Kobe is the more versatile player.</div> Kidd can do everything you just mentioned (except score efficiently and play sf). He has GREAT courtvision he can pass, rebound, defend, and the thing he has over Kobe, LEADERSHIP. Also, I cannot stand how overrated Kobe's defense is. Yes he is a good defender, but I'm tired of Laker fans making it seem this guy is a top 5 defender. This season his defense has taken a very noticable slip, and if he gets a NBA defensive first team again, it will be a total outrage. To me, it's easy to see Kidd is the more versatile player.
