<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Pitt point guard Carl Krauser is expected to announce today that he is declaring for the National Basketball Association draft, said sources close to the Pitt basketball program.

Krauser, a 6-foot-2 junior, would become the second Pitt player to declare for the draft in the past week. Center Chris Taft, who played two seasons for the Panthers, made himself eligible for the draft a week ago.

Unlike Taft, Krauser is expected to attend predraft workouts and camps without hiring an agent, thus making him eligible to return to Pitt should he pull his name from the draft by June 21. Krauser is being projected as a late second-round selection.

If he does not improve his status or is told by scouts and general managers that he is not expected to be taken at all, Krauser, who will turn 24 next month, can return for his senior season at Pitt if he graduates on time later this month. </div>
