    cap

    <div class="quote_poster">Quoting I-Miss-MJ:</div><div class="quote_post">What is the salary cap limit?</div>

The cap limit for next year is an estimate 45 million dollars. For a look at the Bulls cap situation nbadraft.net gives an in depth analysis: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">2005/06 Chicago Bulls Payroll: $33.5 million
2005/06 Estimated NBA Salary Cap: $45 million
    Roughly: $11.5 million under cap

The Good: The Bulls have a very young, talented team, which means small, short-term rookie contracts. Rookie contracts are like maximum strength Tylenol to a salary cap; they reduce swelling and alleviate a lot of headaches.

Ben Gordon and Luol Deng are signed for the next three years, Kirk Hinrich and Andres Nocioni for the next two, all between $2.4 and $4.8 million per year. The players have found a good chemistry and keeping them together will only strengthen that bond. Chicago will have the cap space to resign some of their other young players or dip into the free agent market. The sky is the limit</div>

45 million? Shaq almost earns that by himself.

Shaq actually earns something like $23mil I think. So, he's really not even relatively close.

On topic now, with that much cap space, I don't think the Bulls should run into any problems resigning Curry and Chandler. Neither of them should ask for too high of a contract, so I think it's very likely that they will both be returning for next season.

I think the Bulls will be fine to sign all their young guys for the next few years. We just can't make like the Knicks and sign huge contracts to free agents. It's better to grow these young guys and keep building through the draft while some free agents are signed here and there for veterans and other holes/depth.

In his most publicly direct manner yet, general manager John Paxson said Monday he hopes to keep the entire core of this Bulls team intact next season.

"My plan for this off-season is to bring everybody back," Paxson said. "We don't have a draft pick, so we're talking about roster spots that are going to be available to us. That's my goal.

"I'll sit down with [team Chairman] Jerry [Reinsdorf] and other people when the season ends and go over financially what that will mean. I think all of us agree that we need to continue this thing going. Continuity is really important."

Previous off-seasons have been marked by massive turnover.

"I think our fans would like to see the majority of this team back as well," Paxson said.

Previously, Paxson had made clear his intentions to match any offers for restricted free agents Tyson Chandler, Eddy Curry and Chris Duhon. But this sweeping comment means Paxson wants to re-sign unrestricted free agents Othella Harrington, Adrian Griffin and, possibly, Jannero Pargo.

"I love it here," Harrington said. "I love the guys, the atmosphere and the coaches. If everything plays out the way it should, hopefully I'll be here."

Harrington agrees with Paxson's quest for continuity.

"We have a ton of room for growth, especially having so many young guys," Harrington said. "We've played together. But we haven't played years together. I think if we can get years under our belts together, we can do something special." </div>

i would like to see othella and pargo back

Same Harrington played well when Curry went down and Pargo played well when given the chance.
