<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> The 7-foot-8 3/4 center positions himself under the basket and awaits a pass from trainer Keith Gatlin.

Ball in hand, Sun, 21, muscles his 350-pound frame into training partner Dshamal Schoetz, a 7-footer who played at Greensboro College who is nearly nine inches shorter. Sun pivots and places the ball firmly into the hoop. Swish.

Sun, who is from Harbin, China, is training in Greensboro for a shot at the NBA. His agent, Charles Bonsignore, paired the prospect up with former client and former professional basketball player Keith Gatlin. Gatlin, a managing partner with 334 Sports, a local firm that trains athletes, has worked with Sun for about five weeks.

He's not an nba player. Yet. Or maybe ever. This guy happens to be the bigger "Ming". Sun Ming Ming. There are some huge people in China, apparently the benefits of having a large populous. Probably won't be the next Yao Ming, obviously. That's just too big to play. At that size, I doubt he could run for very long or jump unless he injures himself.

Anything to do with Warriors? You Warrior posters have a world of your own I guess.

Sun is obviously big, but I don't see him being picked at all. Jaber Rouzbahani was 7-5 and could dunk flat-footed, and had the advantage of being just 18, yet he was still unpicked. Sun is 20 and still doesn't play for the Chinese National Team, but just the under-20's. Compare him to Yao Ming, who started for the Chinese at the age of 18, and you'll see the disparity in skill. Lots of people are overhyping him because of his height, but without skill, height won't take you anywhere. All Sun has is a nice outside touch and size. He probably can't even carry his 350lb body up and down the court for 20 minutes in the fast paced NBA game without breaking a leg.

I could probably move it to nba general. I'm just worn out. Long week and wasn't thinking of putting it there. Getting kind of lazy.

The guy will probably never make the NBA I just thought it was interesting because he could easily be the tallest guy in the world right now.

Yeah, like Trip said he probably can't carry his large self down the court. His footwork must also be clumsy. Outside touch-based big men? I say "No thanks" to them myself, but whatever floats your boat, Warriors fans.
BTW- Great sig, CR2. Very funny. [IMG]

Interesting article. Definately a lot of question marks around him.
