Somehow the Warriors magically get the number 1 pick. You can either take Bogut with the number one or Chris Paul. You take Bougt, you don't change the current roster. You get Paul and you trade Fisher and a 2nd rounder for Eddy Curry to make room for Paul. What would you do and why?

Wait, we can trade Curry for Fisher and 2nd rounder? Then, I will draft Bogut and get Curry for Fisher and 2nd rounder, so that we can go twin tower...

You cannot trade Fisher if you draft Bogut. That makes Biedrins a third string player

-or makes Biedrens a pf. I can't imagine Eddie Curry is that cheap,or that with Heinrich and Gorden they'd accept Fish's contract. I still take Bogut. Bogut is a rebound/score/pass C,Curry is a score C. Paul,as a backup to Baron would be a pricey luxury-I'd trade him down in a deal for G Green,or Diogu-which surprises few.

We want to keep the team balanced here.

I guess I don't agree with your rules here. I can kind of see where you're going I guess. You're asking if Bogut is worth missing the chance to get rid of Fisher, hypothetically. I say no, because Bogut brings size and experience.

Biedrins is still young. Although he's proving he can produce with minutes, he racks up fouls, appears awkward at times, and still needs to learn how to defend and attack in the post effectively aside from putbacks (too bad Adonal can't teach him, because Adonal has very few of those offensive moves and uses a very basic defensive mindset). While he could prove me wrong, I don't see him as an impact player next year, but rather down the line. College players will be as or more developed than him physically, and more experienced. While Biedrins has the potential to overtake them possibly even during the course of next year, it's not going to be instantaneous.

Well don't be suprised if Bogut turns out to be a Brad Miller type player with some inside moves. He'll be a good big man at either forward or center, but he's probably going to be a post defender and not a transition defender and he won't make a difference as a franchise player unless he's got a lot of help and the team runs the halfcourt set (which we could use, but we want options to run). He probably won't be dominant in the NBA or have the ability to run as well as Erick Dampier, but he'll make an impact with his passing, rebounding, and scoring. He could very well be an allstar, given the shortage of good big men. But since the team is a running squad in need of a player with post game, that'll be hard to find unless you get the young Shaq, a Nene or Tim Duncan on your squad. I know Tim Duncan ain't the fastest guy on earth, but he's strong and he's pretty mobile when he wants to be and he can finish strong or bank off glass. Oh and Jermaine O'neil's solid in the open court. He's probably the best examples of a freakishly athletic forward/center that can run or post up. Biedrins could very well develop into a Jermaine O'neil type player so naturally I would want some secondary active defender or scorer to keep my best big man out of foul trouble. I'd probably say Tiago Splitter as my high pick. I'm sold on the guy based on what I read and his bball skills and physical skills may make him one of the best prospects out there right now. We've seen Bogut, he probably won't carry a team unless he's got some guys to watch his back. He's a safe pick. Solid, but a little bit overhyped. Before his Utah team was eliminated from the NCAA tourney, it looked like he didn't get much help and he couldn't carry them. But a guy who is just fierce and is quick enough to react to, in addition being basketball smart, will probably be a huge difference maker on both ends if they can just react quickly and work in their knowledge of the game and skills. All the basketball superstars have that combination of being stronger or bigger in addition to being quicker and have the all around basketball skills to make others better. Kind of like how Dunleavy was intended to be since his skills are supposed to make others better. He does, but very quietly. He's too unselfish to the point where people forget he's there. He looked great tonight in the Portland game I might add.

So anyway, I'd probably go safe with Bogut just because you know he's got the strength and will probably be a lock for a top 10 big man that can pass and make others better. And then I'd go for Splitter if I had a chance to trade Bogut and unload Fisher's contract or some other lame contract we have and get some other goodies like a future first round or an intriguing rookie prospect.
