Just simple high-fives and handshakes. As much as people doubted them, the Indiana Pacers had confidence in themselves. The Pacers appeared headed for a lost season when NBA commissioner David Stern took away one of their best players for the season and two others for a large portion of it almost five months ago. The Pacers didn't throw in the towel. Rather they rallied around each other and slowly made believers out of the doubters. The Pacers overcame another barrier Wednesday, coming back to beat the New Jersey Nets 90-86 at Conseco Fieldhouse, clinching their eighth straight playoff berth.</div> <div align="center">Link</div>
I'm surprised Carlisle isn't getting noticed for any coach of the year honors. What he's done with this team is simply amazing! Losing Artest for the whole season; Jermaine O'Neal for 15 games; and Stephen Jackson for 25 games. That's 3 of their best players and look where they are at in the playoff race!
Carlisle: Coach of the Year <div class="quote_poster">Quoting UKOwnstheSEC:</div><div class="quote_post">I'm surprised Carlisle isn't getting noticed for any coach of the year honors.</div> Carlisle is getting noticed for Coach of the Year. They are talking about him today on ABC during the Pacers/Heat halftime. Carlisle really deserves the award. His players have missed a total of 421 games this season due to injury or suspension. He has done a great job to keep the Pacers from losing their confidence and may get home court advantage for the first round of the playoffs. Kudos to Rick Carlisle!
Rick Carlisle has done a great job with the Pacers, and he should at least be in COY discussion. After losing three starters to lengthy suspensions, many thought the Pacers wouldn't make the playoffs this season. The Pacers have clinched a spot in the playoffs, and they are capable of advancing to the second round. Injuries have also affected the Pacers, resulting in 28 different starting lineups this season, good enough for 2nd most in the League.
