This year may just been full of adjustments for Kobe, a new coach, and a new team. I expect Kobe to show what he really has got next year, and back into the playoffs IMO.

I don't know man, Pippen wasn't the scorer Kobe is, but he was a vastly superior defender, a better passer, and a better rebounder. I myself would put Pippen over Kobe at this stage in his career. Jordan helped Pippen a lot in his earlier years to really concentrate on his game, but doesn't take anything away from him, Pippen became a very capable player.

Pippen led the Bulls to the ECF and Finals the 2 years Jordan was gone basically single handedly... and everything else og said.

I would choose the following players on my team before Kobe, in no particular order:

    1) LeBron James
    2) Tim Duncan
    3) Kevin Garnett
    4) Jason Kidd
    5) Tracy McGrady
    6) Allen Iverson
    7) Shaquille O'Neal
    8) Dwanye Wade

IMO, Kobe is overrated...he's a great talent but by no means deserving of a title such as "best player in the NBA"...he's shown that hes a poor leader, and that is the true mark of a superstar...

I would take so many people over kobe...it's amazing.

However, there is no point in arguing with most laker fans.

This is the year that AI proves he's much better than kobe, and lebron carrying a team to the playoffs, i dont think kobe is even in the top 5 best players in the nba right now

I think that Lebron has a great team... I think they are really under-acheiving if they don't even make playoffs.
