Keys to the Game

Perimeter Defense
The 76ers are a team that plays inconstant defense, especially on the perimeter. If they want to beat this revamped Nets team, they are going to have to play the perimeter better then what they did in the last meeting. To give you some numbers, the 76ers lost to the Nets last month. That game, the Nets shot 47% from three-point land and that's better then what they shot regular field goals. With that being said the three point looks must have been more open then the two point shots and when that happens you know a team is in trouble. So tomorrow night the 76ers have to lock down on defense or they might suffer the same outcome as last time.
Foul TroubleThese last few games numerous Sixers have gotten into too much foul trouble. At first I thought it was bad officiating, but lately I'm realizing the 76ers just make careless fouls and get in foul trouble on their own. Most of are starters have been getting into foul trouble including C Webb, Samuel Dalembert, and Allen Iverson. With that being said it's critical for our guys to play good defense by not committing careless fouls. When the Sixers do get in foul trouble, which puts a lot of pressure on the bench players to step up and perform at a starters level.
Take Care of the Ball
Between the last meetings the 76ers had way to many turnovers that cost them fast break points and opportunities on offense. Plus with gifted players like Jason Kidd anytime you commit a mass amount of turnovers he is likely going to turn them into points faster then you can turn your head.
Jason Kidd Projected Game Stats: 19 points 6 rebounds 11 assists
Allen Iverson Projected Game Stats: 32 points 3 rebounds 8 assists

My Prediction: You can't stress how important this game is. With a win in New Jersey Philly can clinch a playoff spot while damaging the Nets hopes of reaching them. Even if the 76ers loose they will likely still make the playoffs. But they can't go into this game with that kind of an attitude. Reason being is, if we win this game with the rest of our others and with a little help from Boston and or Indiana we still can have a 6th or 3rd seed. So the 76ers need to want this win like if it's the only way they'll make the playoffs. If the 76ers play as a team like they have been as of late, and play hard D also they should be able to pull off a victory in Jersey.

Another important game here if we win we are pretty much a lock for the playoffs but if we lose we have to wait until the last game to see. We will probably be in either way if we win or lose this game, we play the Hawks and the Bucks the last two games of the season and both teams are already mathematicly elimated. It looks like we are suiting up for the playoffs [IMG] .

I don't see the Sixers taking this one. Carter this year has torn up Philly, and I see him looking to continue. Nobody can check VC on the Sixers. However, nobody can check Iverson either. Iverson can score at will if he wanted to in this game, however he needs to make wise decisions.

The only Nets to show up in the offensive side of the game will probably only be VC, Kidd and Nenad, but I think that'll be enough. Just a feeling I have.

    Predictions:

    Nets 103 Sixers 97

It's gonna end up as one of those games were the Sixers intentionally foul the Nets at the end after they fail to make shots in the clutch, and thus the Nets build on their lead.

    Vince Carter: 41 Points, 7-8 FTM-FTA, 3-5 From 3, 7 Boards, 4 Assists, 3 Steals
    Allen Iverson: 37 Points, 11-13 FTM-FTA, 7 Assists, 5 TO's, 2 Steals

What's the point of predicting his freethrow made and attempt....lol. If we win this game it will increase our chance to 6th SOOOO much reason being we'll probably beat the bucks and the hawks last two games and the Pacers got the Heat on their schedule

Quote:

Nobody can check VC on the Sixers.
I beg to differ. Although Carter has played very well against the 76ers this season, there is still a good chance Iguodala could shut him down. Just ask LeBron when Iguodala held him for 3 for 20 shooting from the floor, or ask Kobe when Iggy held him to 20 points which is 8 points below his average. Don't ask Paul Pierce he'll just respond by saying "no comment" like he did after getting D'd by Andre a couple of weeks ago.

This will be a very important game for Philadelphia. However, both teams have been building up momentum for the playoffs and both teams are hungry. There's no telling what might happen. For one, New Jersey is fighting for the last playoff spot while Philadelphia is fighting to make sure they don't get the last spot. For us to win, guys have to step up and we need another good night from Chris Webber. Last time against Indiana, he had a phenomenal game, so I just hope he keeps it up. Whenever he plays better, the entire team flows better overall as well so part of it is up to him. Plus, add in Iverson and there should have a lot of offense going on for Philadelphia.

    Prediction- Philadelphia win, 101-97.

The FTA is what really matters, I just add the FTA for the heck of predicting. The FTM shows that he is attacking the basket, and the 3's m/a show that he's shooting 3's and making them....All this shows that he's spreading out his offensive game.

There's a chance for many things to happen...But nobody on the Sixers can check Vince.

Vince dropped 32 and 42 in his games versus PHI this season...Exposing whoever they put on him. Honestly, Iguodala doesn't look that good of a defensive player when he faces VC, but then I see Korver on Vince, playing Ghost defense, and then I realize that nobody on the Sixers can check him. Vince lost Iguodala so many times in the past 2 games...Crossing him over and dunking, spinning around him and getting layups and floaters + 3 point plays...You can't D that.

NJ has been great as of late but if the Sixers follow the keys and shutdown the Nets offense, I can see a W. What a great and mean win it would be if we earned that playoff spot and at the same time almost be ending playoff dreams. If we win this, it looks like smooth sailing from there.

Sixers are gonna win because AI will school everyone on the court even the fans and drop 10 points on each player that steps on the court. He will foul out every one and make New Jersey forfeit. Then he will do a lay-up over the whole Nets team. He's also going to get 13 threes just for the heck of it, then he will decide I hate 3 pointers, NBA must remove them, so he kept taking long range shots and kept scoring them so he ended up with 30 3's so then the David Stern goes up to his homey's and says "Did you guys see A.I last night?" and his homey's will say "No because we all hate A.I" then he said "I didn't see him either I just heard about it, well my point is lets find something to press charges on AI so we can order some chinese food." Stern and his homey's charge him for being to good and end up with 1 mill. They ate all the chinese they can find and scince the chinese restaurents are so disgusting they threw up until they were 10 pounds and died. AI went on to average 100 a night and got 20 rings, 2 on each finger, beat that Bill Russel.

let me tell ya, c-webb has got to play better than this. he can't keep this up, now i know he's in a new system and all, and he's alittle bit injured, but shooting 3 for 15 isn't acceptable for a guy getting paid as much as he is. he better get his game on soon, i'm i'm already sick and tired of him.

    ^Agreed [IMG]

I also agree about Webber. I think he should be working a little bit harder instead of floating around the court and taking some ockward jumpshots. Hes gonna take some I guess. Its really dissapointing after all this excitement that C-Webb was coming to Philly and the Sixers will own the East...but it just didn`t turn out that way.

We now just have to concentrate on the 7th and 8th spot. Are two final games of the year are against the Bucks and Hawks. These should be 2 easy wins and last night on post game Sonny Hill said that Redd may not be playing. Now that I think about it, the 8th seed would be more pleasent, IMO, the Pistons are being almost impossible to beat, maybe we`ll leave that to the Nets. [IMG]
