Very interesting clause in LeBron's $90 million Nike contract On ATH today, Jay Mariotti brought up a point about a clause in LeBron's Nike contract which states that his $90 million contract could be worth well over $100+ million if he played for certain NBA teams, namely the Knicks and Lakers. This gives him even more of an incentive to not sign with the Cavs longterm and go to either the Lakers or Knicks.
Thank God!! I hope he makes a good decision <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Silky Smooth:</div><div class="quote_post">LeBron shouldn't base his professional basketball decisions on a Nike endorsement deal.</div> Who are you telling him what he shouldn't base his decisions on?
wow imagine if Lebron went to the Lakers. Not to mention that kobe and lebron have develpoed a strong friendship.
You know, if LeBron wants to go, then let him. Just go to the Knicks where you'll never make the playoffs but at least you'll get the zillions of dollars you're wanting.

Seriously, was that a joke? Even with James around, players are thinking about leaving and they have a very good chance of missing the playoffs too. The Knicks should be able to make the playoffs next year.
Yeah, Accord. It has been discussed for a while now. ____ <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">You know, if LeBron wants to go, then let him. I can't think of another way to put it. Just..wow. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">LeBron shouldn't base his professional basketball decisions on a Nike endorsement deal.</div> It certainly wouldn't solely be placed on the deal, don't forget all the things New York offers along with the cotnract - there is a reason that New York is one of the designated cities. I'm sure that if the same Nike contract applied to him going to Charlotte, Atlanta, Milwaukee, Memphis, Utah, etc. that he would opt to go to New York. Sometimes you have to put it in circumstances - imagine being the king of New York. It's probably one of the best feelings a man could possibly have - that's worth more than just a contract clause.
accord Accord I dont know why you have found this so interesting...... we have been discussing this clause in his contract for months now.....
