Joey Harrington was just paid a $3 million roster bonus by Detroit. That bodes well for their confidence in him to be "the man" this year and not Jeff Garcia. How do you think he'll do this year?
I think he has some good raw skills, he just makes horrible decisions and gets flustered easily. If he could calm down a little bit he might be a decent QB, but I'm not sure if he'll make it that far...
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (N_Burleson4life)</div><div class='quotemain'>Horrible. Just horrible. He doesn't have an arm.</div> You Crazy? He has a killer arm, right up there with Cullpeppers, a couple steps down from Vick's and Favre's but its right up there, doesn't seem to have much else going for him though, I feel bad for him I hope he steps it up though hes a pretty classy guy.
I don't see Harrington doing any better this season. I'm sure he can be a decent QB but he just can't seem to get it done. I guess we'll have to see if he can step up his game and play to his potential this season.
HARRINTON = BUST and is ruining that franchise. With all of that young talent of offense is going to waste because of the Joey "the Bust" Harrington.
Remeber how quick everyone was to say Drew Brees was a bust? The very next year after they gave him some competition he became one of the best QBs in the league. Garcia is gonna light a Fire under Harrington thats should make him finally begin to produce.
I wouldn't call Harrington a bust either, I do think that he needs a jump start to get going though. Having a fire lit under him just might do the trick, he definitely has talent at the WR position to get it done. Hopefully he can elevate his game and if he does that then the Lions may not be half bad this season.
I think its the curse of Tedford (former U Oregon O Co-ord & current Cal coach). Akili Smith was a bust. Feeley could be. Boller has the same predicamenr expectations as Harrington in terms of he's had enough time to adjust to the NFL. Now, its time to step up. I wonder will we be talking about Aaron Rodgers in the same way here in 3 or so years?

Garcias on the Lions?!?!
Wow Harrinton is the #3 pick and is going inot his 4th season and still hasn't produced. Brees never had any talent around him outsid of LT and was on a worse team with a horrible defense. Harrington had Roy Williams last year and even with Kevin Jones coming a long he still didn't look that good. As the #3 pick in the draft by now you should of showed some sort of spark and he hasn't. Which is why he is a Bust. I think he needs a new team and a new system to get a new start. Detroit should look in the draft next year. Maybe Matt Leinart or Omar Jacobs.
Well he had talent around him but half the time they were injured. I think he's a QB tht will do better than the QBs in his division. With three greatv recievers almost nothing cant go wrong. The only thing tht could go wrong is injuries. He has had a few rough games but some games he does greatly in. U may not see it in his stats but he does wht he can. They're D wasnt the best last year and hopefully tht will help them out this year.
Are you kidding better than Culpepper and Favre. Never. I would like to no who these 3 great recievers are. Outside of Roy Williams the others are unproven Look at the Facts 1. Charles Rogers hasn't played more than 4 or 5 games in a season. So we don't no what he has to give. Oh but he looked great in practice. Practice and Gameday are seperated by A LOT. 2. Mike Williams I like Mike Williams a lot but he isn't great yet. He hasn't taken a snapp yet in the NFL. So you don't no what he will give you in the NFL. NFL is way up here while College is way down here. The adjustment is a little harder than most people think,
Back on topic... Jeff Garcia said that the job is Harrington's to lose, but he plans to be right behind him nipping at his heels. If Garcia does manage to win the job, he says he doesn't plan on giving it back. A little friendly competition in Detroit, apparently.
Does it matter. Garcia is finished. The last 3 years he hasn' played well at all. Harrington may end up losing it but he has played like a bust since he came into the league. So he needs to step it up.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Does it matter. Garcia is finished.</div> Playing in Cleveland his finished many QBs... If Garcia got under center in Detroit, he'd still do well.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (poky88)</div><div class='quotemain'>What does that have to do with Harrington</div> Several posts above, the question was posed... <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (FLORIDA PACKER)</div><div class='quotemain'>However ins't Carr from a tedford system?</div> To which I replied, <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (blackadder)</div><div class='quotemain'>Carr played @ Fresno & therefore was not a pupil of Tedford.</div> So, it has everything to do w/ Harrington.
