With the Nets beating the Celtics tonight, James and the Cavaliers have officially been eliminated from playoff contention despite LeBron James great effort all season long! Against the Raptors, instead of droppping 56 points, he decided to record a triple-double and get 27/14/14. Too bad. Everyone was getting excited with their start, but as Ira Newble said, "We brought it on ourselves." They had their chance and they messed it up late in the season. Maybe next year...

It's ashame this had to happen, because they played so well in the begining of the season. Some wrong moves were made in the proccess but this was a team that was fighting four home court advantage early on. So when you look at it, its pathetic to see them drop out from the playoffs like they have.

I don't feel bad for them at all, they blew their chance at making it in the playoffs. Maybe next ear, but what a way to go out like Lebron! I expect tem to make it to the playoffs next year.

More fuel to add to James' fire. This is when the KG references of "you may be the best overall, but you aren't a winner" come out by the critics.
The Cavs need to smarten up in the off-season and satisfy Lebron's needs. I think he will WILL them to the playoffs next year, pending that they don't make sudden changes halfway through the year.

Sorry guys, we tried in Toronto to get the Cavs there. You must've all already known that Toronto had their best interest in not making Carter get to the playoffs, but alas, New Jersey won on a crappy give up game from the Celtics. I wanted so badly for Cleveland to get in ahead of New Jersey, it would have been poetic justice for Carter; a man that totally dissed Toronto with his work ethic and tried to make it up in New Jersey. Oh well, that's how the cookie crumbles. We've had it pretty bad in the T.Dot

its just seems unfair for lebron after putting up some spectacular number during the whole season.. Once again he is the only one out of the trio (lebron, carmelo, wade) that doesnt play in the post season

I knew this was going to happen. They just blew it, they screwed up firing Silas during the key stretch of the season, and in the end, it really hurt them. The Nets deserved it and will make better competition for the Heat.

A few things to think about:

The cavs first half was very easy, we got all of our "gimmie" games out of the way early, which really hurt us IMO. We didn't have those games against Charlotte and Atlanta when we really needed them.

Firing Silas = extreamly dumb. There were some people here saying it was a good move, but they disapeared soon enough.

We'll be there next year. Trust me.

Didn't want Vince to be rewarded for ditching the Raps but what can you do?

LBJ ripped the Raptors a new one again, I bet he wishes he played us every game. LeBron will be ready next year. This will eat at him all summer and he'll work twice as hard this offseason.

But just in case he's not happy in Cleveland when it's time to resign, just send him over to the Raptors and we'll give you Bosh. One unhappy player for another [IMG]

There's no way in hell he'll ever end up in New York either, but you refuse to face that reality.

I hate having to tell people this over and over again, but WHY WOULD HE GO TO NEW YORK?????? A team who finished further below them, and they dont really look like a team willing to try and make playoff runs. A wouldnt wana go there. Chicagos the type of team he may feel at home in.

Cleveland out of the finals was just another nail in the coffin as far as im concerned. He must hate the management for getting rid of silas. Then they go from 2nd in the east to 9th! and miss the playoffs! bad news cavs fans but the man is gona fly da coop soon!

Well, it's a lot better than letting him leave for nothing. We'll throw in Jalen for them too [IMG]

I don't think LeBron would ever want to got to the Knicks either, unless he wants a bigger media market. But he is LeBron, so that will not make any difference whatsoever. New York is in a much worse situation than Cleveland is in, with no end in sight.

I think 2007 would be a good time to resume these conversations (you know, when his contract's up) but what can you do?

Please tell me where I said that? And anywhere where I mentioned LeBron's situation in Cleveland in this thread. This thread was how the Cavs are sitting home and James' guarantee of them making the playoffs proved wrong.

This is an exerpt from todays Boston Herald:

    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Cavs cry foul:
The Celts didn't get away completely clean from their last two regular-season games. While the NBA had no problem with the club resting veterans for large stretches against both the Cavaliers and Nets - the two teams fighting for the last playoff position in the Eastern Conference - there was some carping in Cleveland.

More than a few folks were apparently disturbed that the Celts blew a 19-point lead and fell to Jersey, leaving the Cavs and Nets even in the standings (with the latter holding the tiebreaker).

Celtics PR man Jeff Twiss even fielded a call from an alleged radio guy from Cleveland who threatened legal ramifications.

``He said the attorney general was going to launch an investigation into this,'' Twiss said. ``He was saying, `How dare the Celtics with their proud tradition ever do this?' Then he said that we should have put Antoine (Walker) back into the game when we were down by just three points.'' </div>

I sincerely hope that this crap isn't what real Cavs fans think. It's a complete joke and everyone knows it. This is the kind of crap I'd expect from someone like Peter Vecsey, not anyone claiming to be a Cavs fan.

Let's hope the moron who called this in saw last night's game and the pounding the second unit, who gained valuable experience in both the Cavs and Nets game at the end of the season, put on the Pacers. Maybe he'll shut up then and start looking at the real reason the Cavs missed the playoffs, which have nothing to do with 1 game that the Cavs didn't even play in. I'm sure he wasn't complaining when we supposedly "laid down" for the Cavs benefit, the game before, was he? [IMG]

Complete non-sense, but I wanted to share it with real Cavs fans. Hopefully, you're as nausiated by this as we are. [IMG]

Yo i wanted the cavs to win that game so we can see how lebron would have step up with his team. He is good but he need some help. Because him and snow is all and the center he is all right. They need a good pg and Pf like KG if they had kg they would kill. kg and wade or allen.
