I read an article that I got off hoopshype saying the Cavs were previously very interested in aquiring Odom, and now that Big Z is a free agent I found the situation to be very interesting. The Lakers obviously need a consistent center down low, and the Cavs can try the Pippen-Jordan like connection with LeBron like the Lakers tried with Kobe. I don't know who else The Lakers could get out of a trade like that, but if we can somehow get the Cav's draft pick or maybe a guy like Eric Snow it could be very interesting.

I'll post the link for the Article but when you click on it the page says you need an account to read it so you might want to get the link from HoopsHype.com

What are everyones thoughts on this?

IMO, Z is not the way to go, hes injury-prone and breaks down towards the end of the season, however eric snow would be nice to have.

Big Z isn't injury prone. He had the foot injuries, what, like 3 or 4 years ago? You want him, we want Odom.

    Get it done!

As it is, Big-Z doesn't plan on comming back to the Cav's next year. It is possible, but do we really need the Big-Z?

It really depends on who else the Lakers get from the deal. Big Z is a good center, but I think he's wasted being the 3rd option on offense for the Lakers. I'd rather trade Odom for more of a defensive big man than Big Z. A month or two ago, he said he only wanted to play 3 more years.

I would do the deal if the Lakers got Big Z for 2 years, and a team 3rd year option plus the Cavs include Varejao.

So would this mean Tractor Traylor would be the center, Gooden- power forward, Odom- small forward, LeBron- SG, and a free agent at PG?

I'd do it, but I think we should get a draft pick as well.

Who should get a draft pick? The Lakers or the Cavs?

If it's the Lakers, I don't know, a lot of people have argued in the season that Z is just as good or better than Odom, and while I don't think so, I don't think the Cavs will give Z, A draft pick and fillers for Odom. Also the Cavs owe their pick this season to the Bobcats.

Huh? He's way too old now, maybe a year or 2 ago, but their's not need for the Lakers to go after Snow right now, I'm not sure how much more he has left on his contract, but he also makes a fair amount.

I don't like this deal. Big Z is very injury-prone, and I think we could get something a little better for Odom.

Also, from a Cleveland POV, I don't think Odom-LeBron could work, Odom needs the ball in his hands to be effective, and we all know that LBJ likes to handle the ball a lot.
