Quote:

[IMGl]http://www.nba.com/media/sixers/iverson_050417.jpg[/IMGl]Some of the points came from well beyond the three-point line. Many more came from the foul line. Even more came while flying through the air, dodging and darting between and around players a foot taller, propelled with a deft touch over outstretched arms, off a pane of glass, and in. After spending 75 of the Sixers 82 games doing things like this, Iverson won the fourth scoring title of his career with 30.7 points per game, easily outdistancing Kobe Bryant at 27.4 ppg and LeBron James at 27.2. Iverson?s total was 2,302 points ? the second-best scoring performance in the franchise?s history. Only Wilt Chamberlain scored more, draining 2,649 points in 1965-66. Iverson's fourth scoring title of his career catapults him into an elite club. He is now only the fourth player in league history to earn at least four scoring championships. Michael Jordan won it 10 times, and Wilt Chamberlain did it seven. Iverson joins George Gervin as the only two players to win four. Iverson dropped points by the truckload all season long. He scored in double figures in every game he played, never scoring fewer than 14 points in a game. And all those came early ? after scoring 14 in a 119-84 home loss to Minnesota on December 8, Iverson didn?t score fewer than 20 points until the season finale against Atlanta, when he scored 16 points in 12 minutes of action before taking the rest of the night off.

Iverson Wins Fourth Scoring Title
Congrats to Allen Iverson. He now joins Wilt Chamberlain, George Gervin and some guy named Michael Jordan as the only players with 4 or more scoring titles. 99-00: 28.4 PPG 00-01: 31.1 PPG 01-02: 31.4 PPG 04-05: 30.7 PPG All Time Leaders: Points Per Game 1. Player of the Month...scoring title...couple player of the weeks...it almost gets better and better. Another congradulations to AI and what really amazes me is Iversons doing that all at that age...then again its Allen Iverson
Congrats to Allen Iverson. He makes all of his fans and should make all NBA fans period, proud of him. It's only going to get better in the playoffs.
Great news for him. He has accomplish so much as a player and this would stand great next to his many other achievements. MVP, All NBA First Team, Scoring Titles... The only thing he doesn't have right now is an NBA Championship.
Screw the accolades, I bet he's just happy he's back in the playoffs...seriously, winning is everything IMO. AI is just one of the many players that his numbers have never translate into success. Basketball isn't won on paper. KG knows it too well and LBJ+Kobe are just finding out about it.

I've notice on countless occasions that you seem to discredit him and bring him down whenever you have the chance. You're right about one thing, basketball games aren't won on paper. However, this is not the subject, the subject is about him adding more to his legacy, but yet you still find a way to add some negative about this great feat he accomplished. So again, was it that you seem to have against Iverson? Is is that you think he's overrated? His career is a bust? He's not pretty enough, or maybe you dislike the fact that the very young player you have right there, you know the guy named Dwayne Wade the guy that is carrying the Miami Heat along with Shaq actually looks up to Iverson and claimed to have mold his game after Iverson? Is it that, if not please tell me.
Really, we know that basketball is not a game won on paper. But this is one of the few major positives in this years 76ers campaign so <strike>screw you</strike>. Like already said, the point of this thread is to recognize Iverson for his feats as a player this season. I mean Charles didn't win a ring but he still gets his accolades right? The same thing can be said for many other players, its all about respect. - NO PERSONAL ATTACKS. Avery 76ers Team Leader
It's CLEAR that Iverson is the best individual player in the league this year, but obviously the Sixers are only a midpack team. But wow all star mvp scoring title player of the month several player of the weeks numberr 2 in steals number 5 in assists number 2 in minutes That is some serrious numbers, let's just hope the rest of the team give a good fight against the Pistons
