Guess How Many Spelling Mistakes We've Made

Just for fun I submitted this forum to SpellWonder.com. Any guesses as to how many spelling mistakes they found throughout the forums?

At the time that they checked it out, there were 6153 pages to the site...

It's going to be a ton... There are regular posters who have spelling errors in their auto-signatures and personal information, so every single one of their posts is going to have an error.

What do we win for guessing? How does it check the site?

 

I guess the mistake count went up when DPGB came along, my guess is about 600,000.

 

Well, you are both guessing way too high.

The system goes through and 'spiders' all the pages and checks for spelling errors. If a certain misspelled word appears repeatedly, it gets added to a custom dictionary and not counted as a mispelling, so the number is really just an approximate.

And no, you aren't going to win anything but my respect.

How long did it take to get a response from them? I submitted my site today. How long can I expect to wait?

 

It took me about a day and a half, but this site also has 6,000+ pages.

Damn thats a lot of spelling errors. DPG, I would imagine a good portion of those spelling errors are from you.
