<div class="quote_poster">Quoting YSM5:</div><div class="quote_post">no its just that it was very surprising and i thought it was pretty entertaining</div>

So you think fans getting hurt, players jumping in and attacking fans who did nothing wrong and players getting food, drinks thrown at them and little kids crying is entertainment?

The 76ers season opener at the Celtics was a greast game. Also Allen Iversons 60 point game was amazing to watch.

Ofcourse it's not . But the reason why it was a good game is because it was Historical. It will be forever remeberd. Ofcourse it was a bad day. The reason I inculded it because it was a historical moment that I never thought that would happen and was shocked when it did.

I wouldn't say it was a best game. But memorable in a bad way.

The media acted like it was some sort of tragedy or something. It wasn't. Kids cry if they drop their icecream cone. Big deal. No one was seriously injured. It was good television. I watched the replays several times. I wouldn't want it to happen again, given the risks, but that doesn't mean it wasn't entertaining to watch.

And it was also a pretty good game up that point, given the rivalry between the two team and the intensity with which it was played. If I could have a copy of 5 games during the past season, that would definitely be one of them.

My top two choices would be the Houston-Dallas and Houston-San Antonio games (of course, I'm biased). Miami-LA, Christmas day, was pretty good but WAY overhyped.

Great point. I thought it was a pretty sad blow to the NBA in terms of those people who don't know jack about basketball that will be going "oh look how bad the NBA is" but I don't really think the NBA took a blow with thier casual and regular fans. I mean, if anything, that brawl helped NBA ratings furthermore.

On another point, the media really did blow it out more then needed to, they acted as if it was the worst thing to happen in all of sports, in all of humanity even.

"Black man charges to the stands like a lunatic" (I'm not pulling the race card, it's just the general view of the world)

I agree that it was a hnorrible thing to happen but saying things like "kids crying" doesn't really justify anything.
The players acted the way they did (I can't really defend Stephen "Woo!" Jackson) because it was a question of "what would you do?"

Granted, more then Artest, the blame should have been placed more on Ben Wallace, who only got six games for basically instigating the whole thing. Great job David Stern.

Now some are going to say that "oh its the fans, they're always right". In the end, we're all people, you need to understand that. These players, they are humans too, no matter how much money they're making or muscles they have. You know how people use the term "the customer is always right?"

Well, the customer (in this case, the fans) is NOT always right, and anyone who has worked in retail knows that.
We tend to hold it in most times but sometimes people will blow up, especially when you're being scrunitized, judged, hollered at, slurred about on a regular basis.

The actions of November 19th were wrong in a..sports sense (I'd defend anybody except Stephen Jackson's actions) but from a broader picture, whoever came on to the basketball court later to duke it out with players, whoever threw the beer, who ever came to punch any of the players deserved to get what they got.
