<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Allen Iverson acknowledges Detroit coach Larry Brown has coached and watched him play enough to know all his moves. He's just not worried about it. ``That don't have anything to do with being out there on the court and playing against me,'' the Philadelphia 76ers All-Star said. ``I'll be ready for it all. Whatever they do, I'll be ready to counteract.'' Iverson will lead the 76ers against their former coach in the first round of the playoffs when Philadelphia travels to Detroit to face the defending NBA champion Pistons for Game 1 on Saturday afternoon. Brown coached Iverson for six of his nine NBA seasons and all 57 of his playoff games, including the 2001 NBA Finals. Iverson, Brown and the Sixers lost to Detroit in the second round two years later. The Pistons fired Rick Carlisle after losing in the conference finals and gave Brown a $25 million, five-year contract. Brown said Iverson is playing better than he ever did with him on the sideline.</div> <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">``I expect everybody to predict us to lose -- that's the way I want it,'' Iverson said.</div> <div align="center">Full Story</div> If you read the article Iverson sounds pretty darn confident. This is very good to hear, knowing that everything starts with him, and the fact of him being confident should make the whole team confident. Playing under Larry Brown for so long, Brown out of all people should know how to slow down Iverson, but I just have a gut feeling that Iverson is out to play the best ball of his career, and just do some amazing things. That doesn't necessarily mean that they will edge out the Pistons, but as far as Iverson goes, the Pistons better beware. Iverson seems more determined than ever.
Iverson has been amazing all season, the Sixers still ended up with a sub 500 record. Iverson could average 40 for the series and likely wouldn't matter a whole lot. So really the Pistons won't be losing sleep over AI's confidence. Iverson has to be confident otherwise the Sixers would of lost before the series has even started.
Go Sixers! I'll be rooting for Philly in the playoffs since my Raps aren't in them. AI's going to be awesome.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Andrew23226:</div><div class="quote_post">Since when is 43-39 sub 500?</div> Being just over 500 is considered sub 500. Certainly not worthy enough to be worried about an Iverson led team.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Being just over 500 is considered sub 500.</div> That's new to me...
YESSS In the article it stated Chris Webber was going to show that it was a good trade for philadelphia and he is gonna live up to the expectations starting now... when it counts
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">That's new to me...</div>Agreed... The playoffs is when I think Webber will really shine. Webber is just one of the big men that have to help shutdown the Pistons biggies so that opens shots for players such as AI, Korver, and Igoudala.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Webber is just one of the big men that have to help shutdown the Pistons biggies so that opens shots for players such as AI, Korver, and Igoudala.</div> Somewhat true, but whats really going to help is, on offense Chris Webber is going to have to bring a defender out of the paint to guard him on the perimeter. That'll leave the lane wih probably Ben Wallace himself, and Allen Iverson could have more room to penetrate a lot easier.
