What a great win by the Rockets! It looks like we're the only team playing today that has won on the road. The Mavs should have won this game given the disparity on the FTs. They went to the line twice as many as ours but they also missed a good number of it. TMac has a superb game and James has applied his championship experience. Too bad Yao did'nt contribute well due to foul troubles. Anyway our defense won us the game and I salute to our role players for giving out their best.

yeah...if he continues to be on fire all throughout the series,no doubt theyll take this one...and he also did good on his defensive assign.

I LOVE MY ROCKETS! Good stuff from us. I can imagine a meeting in the conference finals very easily. But too early to tell.

Great start to the series for Houston. They beat the Mavs by 12 on their homecourt to open the series. Houston did a good job defensively, especially on Dirk who had a bad shooting night from the court. T-Mac was impressive on offense, and was big for the Rockets.

T-Mac took over this game, Dallas better find a way to contain him throughout the series or they'll get burnt. I still want to see Yao get more involved though. He needs to stay active, or he may not be ready when the Rockets are going to need him.

T-mac having the kind of game like he did in game 1 isn't the Mavs problem. T-mac is going to average around 30 for the series and what Mcgrady did wasn't really just the reason Dallas lost. Dirk shot 5-19, Finley didn't shoot well and neither did Van Horn. Yao got in foul trouble which hurt his production so one would expect Finley and Yao to get going for the rest of the series but the key factor is Dirk. Once he gets back to his normal self this series could easily change. I highly doubt there will be another time in this series that Mcgrady outscores Dirk by 13, thats what the Mavs need. For Dirk to match Mcrady and visa versa. I feel most of the other Mavericks did their job efffectly offensively. Obviously they were poor defensively which hurt them in that 2nd quarter but overall they just need Dirk to step up.

For game 2 Houston need to keep what they are doing, feeding T-mac and Yao, let the Houston guards spot up and force Dirk to take tough shots. Game 2 is a must win for Dallas, the Rockets have no pressure to win game 2. They got what they wanted, they stole homecourt from the Mavericks and will have that homecourt in Houston.

The question is do we REALLY want Homecourt?? It seems we are a better team on the road. T-Mac seems to feed off the negative response of the other team's fans.

Yeah.. I bet that's what Dallas is hoping Houston is thinking... I think Houston needs to go into the game as a "must win" situation.. It would be a lot easier with Dallas 2 down coming into Houston than 1-1.

Thats true, but the only reason in my opinion that we were a better team on the road was because no one showed up at our home games. Because this is the playoffs, I expect there to be alot more people so there would be alot more support for Houston.

Rudy T. said it best when the rockets went up 1-0 on Orlando in '95.........."those guys (meaning the magic) are down 1-0, they feel pressured, like their backs are against the wall......we'd be cheatin ourselves if we didn't think the same"

^^^it was somethin to that effect........the bottom line is in playoffs every game is a must win

Having the series tied wouldn't be a good sign. I would much rather Houston just dominate every way possible just to play it safe. I mean, the point of the playoffs is to just basically go out there and win as many games as possible. By winning another in Dallas, it would make it much easier for Houston to win the rest of them and besides, if they do beat Dallas early, they would have a couple days rest to heal up some tired legs.

I think that's a very good point. One more thing, though: if the Rockets win game 2 tonight, game 3 will be FREAKING LOUD!!! [IMG]

I don't see the home court thing being a problem in the playoffs unless the Rockets had fallen behind early in this one, which they didn't.
