I've been wondering about that for a while now. It always intrigues me to think where you guys heard JBB from, and what made you join. I'd gone out and recruited from BBB and ESPN a few times; it'll be interesting if any of you have been brought here courtesy of me.

    Google!

One day I decided to look for a Basketball forum so I just started typing in keywords and began clicking away at the links. I couldnt find anything that looked "professional" but then I ran into JBB and fell in love with it. It's now my Home Page.

Been my homepage for about a year now. [IMG]

As for myself, I was posting at slamonline.com when I saw a post by Hunter that was basically a spam for JBB. I was attracted to it because it had team forums, Slamonline didn't, and I've never left since. The Rockets board in the beginning had like 3 members posting regularly: me, Hunter and Shooter. It's amazing to see about 15 new posts per day now.

Jan 25, 2003. I joined before it was a year old. This board is actually pretty young compared to some others.

Yes it was Google for me too. I think thats the most apparent way of stumbling across JBB. I actually started posting on Inside Hoops for about a week then found JBB which is SOOOOO much better. IHoops is complete trash.

During the NBA Offseason I was quite a bit excited by the Rockets rebuilding project that started with the TMac-Francis trade. So I began to read a lot of Rockets news articles from ESPN,SI,Houston Chronicle, etc... Then I found some forum discussions in NBA Wire and Clutch Fans. Clutch Fans forums was informative but they require a one-time fee so I backed off. The NBA Wire does'nt offer as much as well. As my search goes further I stumble upon the JBB website. I saw the logo "for die-hard basketball fans only so I became intrigued then browsed the whole site. I glanced upon the Rockets forum and I decided to join and share my opinions with my fellow Rockets Fans. Trip,Dakeem,Shooter and Magno were among the frequent members that I saw on the Forum. I remembered a lot of us can't wait for the season to begin at that time. Although I still visit the other forums but not writing on them there's no comparison with the Rockets Forum that we had. I'm also glad that we became more competetive and more members have joined in as time goes by. We had one of the most active forum in the JBB site and I'm very proud of that.

BTW Trip if you need some additional member to write game previews for the next season just tell me and I'm willing to contribute so it might lessened some burdens on the current preview team especially if you all have tight schedules.

Definitely blueracer. We've missed quite a few previews this season because of schedule problems, and for next season I plan on having a very committed preview team, and that should be saying something because this year's has already been very committed. I'll probably be holding tryouts for one or two more members in October. I'll keep you all updated.

As for NBAWire, haha. I was a member there for a while to recruit members, and I remember sending a lot of PMs to Rockets posters there. Then my account got deleted because the admins found out. It's light years behind JBB for sure. Their mods are all 10-15 years old, but I stay friendly with some of them still.

i wasnt even looking for a forum lol... this is the first forum that i have joined and seem to have a big interest in.... i was actually looking for the tmac video of his great comeback and i stepped upon this site and i was like whoa.... because ive alway sbeen the one whos stayed with teh houston teams and i have had nobody to talk to about things of this sort who dont go ' man the rockets are weak, lakers > rockets (even when i keep asking them who made it ot the playoffs this year lol) ' or somethign of this sort but now its good to find a forum where there is a professional attitude in teh forums so im glad i found this forum.

Oh yes blueracer. I remember the off-season in this forum very well. I joined in July, basically when TMac came over and wanted to look for more trade rumours which is why I googled for Rockets forums.

I was so excited being a part of JBB when I 1st joined, and although that sensation of being a part of a new group is not strong, JBB is very important for me. Its my 2rd priority (behind email and NBA.com).
